My experience was when i was in an accident and the seat belt wouldn't come off. i luckily had a simple SAK on me and cut myself free.

Welcome to BladeForums!

I posted a story about my using a yellow-handled, SE Spyderco Pacific Salt. Long story short, it saved a life---my little brother's. Excellent knife, by the way.

I was once in foreign territory, starving, a rogue letter approached, on my desk, near an apple.

I deanimated the letter, and with one quick wipe on my jeans leg, I drew and quatered the apple.

It was close.

id like to hear the story. can you send me a link please :)

I was taking my usual Sunday afternoon walk. As I walked past a home on higher ground than the street, a guy (probably the homeowner) was on the high bank about 20 yards away clearing brush. His large red dog came at a dead run off the bank, barking and snarling at me. Having no chance to run away, as the dog neared, I opened a large Cold Steel folder and prepared to try to open the dog up with an uppercut if it kept coming. The guy had been watching silently until the knife came out, then he immediately called the dog to stop and come back, which it did. He never said a word to me, nor I to him, and I continued with the walk. As I walked home I kept expecting law enforcement to appear, but they never did.

Man - this had potential to be a good thread...

Its something that has been discussed ad nauseum though....every few weeks, a thread about defending yourself with, from etc with a Knife...

It's highly suggestible, that people who seek stories & entertainment, simply go back through General forums, looking at the cycle of threads, prior to starting similar ones.

Op was a troll, and felt the need to flash his e-balls out there, posting threads, Kabar thread was a dead give away, was just waiting for the D' allara thread to pop up again.

No, I haven't. But, there was one time where I thought we were going to really NEED it. We lived in RC,SD at the time, and were driving to CO. to pick up a friend that was getting out the hospital. We said that we would go get her. Well, it was VERY windy AND we hit a patch of ice!! We got blown across the road, across the median (we saw cars coming at us.), across the other lanes of traffic! We finally landed on the complete other side of the highway, up to our doors in snow. We both thought for sure that we were done to end up upside down, but didn't. One of the thoughts was regarding whether of not I had a knife, and I said of course I did!! It was terrifying!! I had a death grip on the steering wheel, and had to pry my fingers off one at a time. I am NOT joking!! Did I mention that there were metal poles in the median, and that we didn't hit any of them?!! GOD drives REALLY well.

"At nauseum" is a bit exaggerated. Also, I would NEVER read through countless threads to identify "cycles of threads", that's completely unrealistic to think anyone would do that.

I understand this guy is a troll, but it's still a good topic and has the opportunity to have people share stories.

Of course it is 'unrealistic', especially in this day and age of speaking prior to thinking, as opposed to thinking before speaking.

LOL, some of us WAAY to much time here.

He is not a troll for this thread. He is a troll for what he wrote in another thread as a different user. Once a user is banned, it requires special permission to reapply to be a member of the community. You cannot just start over with a new account.

And you are right. It is still a good topic and it may continue, but without the overt presence of the previously identified troll.

You must smell awful!!!:D seriously, any time agressive dogs come running at me, as soon as they approach smelling distance, they mellow out real fast.

It was really windy one night while my mom was driving me to my aunt's. The wind blew some construction fence-plastic blaze orange usually held in place with stakes-into the belly of the car and got tangled in the exhaust stuff. We were dragging like, 7-9 feet of it with stakes at the end. Pulled over and I got under the car and it cut it out with my RC-4. It could have been dangerous.

It can't be too hard to use a proxy and just make a new account. Bastards do it all the time on a forum I moderate.

I wouldn't know, I'm still a DOS guy at heart. I do know that the mods shoot down a lot of repeat offenders.

The dog did mellow out and return. Because why, maybe your response theory, maybe cause the owner, but to assume that the poster smells awful?
I've got a dog that wouldn't stop, he'd charge, snarling and barking, only to bowl you over with kisses and a wagging tail. Scary as hell if you don't know the dog. I have to keep a real close eye on him for that reason alone, he scares people. If the poster thought he was in danger, he did the right thing. And to assume that he needs to learn canine awareness and shouldn't have attempted to protect himself is dumb. I'd say his "canine awareness" is doing just fine.
