Has your knife ever helped you out of a dire situation?

Not a real dire situation but:
Went on a day hike with the misses and the young one (who is 1) it was time for her to eat and we realized that we did not have a spoon. I proceeded to expediently carve a small spoon. I don't know how many parent s are here but a hungry 1 yr old is a pretty grumpy child. Spoon carved situation averted.

I wasn't in a dire situation but an unlucky sheep was and my knife saved it's mutton that day.

While hiking in Derbyshire, England a sheep had lost it's footing on a hill and rolled down through numerous Bramble bushes wrapping itself up more and more as it went. When I found it the Brambles were wrapped so tightly that the sheep couldn't move at all.
Using my SAK I was able to cut enough from it's body so it was able to struggle free and head back off to join the rest of the flock.
