Hastalloy?

hastalloy is a stainless-nickel and copper alloy. It is in the same class as inconel and monel. I doubt that it would make a very good knife blade. It is very hard to weld and probably can not be soldiered. It is also soft.

Hastaloy is nasty to machine like K500 age hardened monel. As a blade it would work to
a degree. it would not hold a good edge. What would be the advantage?

Thanks, folks!

I've had some lying around for a while and just wondered what to do with it. (I worked with a lot of Inconel and Monel in my "Navy Nuke" days - this stuff seems much worse to cut!)

Maybe it could be useful as a bench top when I'm working with hydrochloric acid.

Tom M., I think you're confusing this stuff with "Hasta La Vistalloy".
