Let me try this again. Thanks for all the assisted me. I have had this hatchet for several years. I am wondering if anyone knows anything about the style or history. Let me know what you think. Thanks Dan in CT

It is very similar to a NZAPPA ZAP - a fighting axe from the upper Congo. I found a picture in my 1974 Guns&Ammo Guidebook to Knives and Edged Weapons. The "Unusual Edged Weapons" article was by Hans Turner.
