I said I was done buying Buck knives, but this isn’t a knife
Pretty excited about this one. It was in a group on EBay. I always wanted a hatchet and knife with matching handles. Cant wait to get it.

Good deal Ed, eveled eveled congrats. I saw that group, did you have to take all or just get the axe?

Over all it looks like a nice group that has been together a long time, and seen little use. I’m glad he sold them as a group. I plan on keeping them together.

Cool.
I saw those and thought the same thing.
Glad you're gonna keep 'em.

They get lost and can’t be easily replaced.

I can see why. Who really walks around with a hatchet on their belt? Take it out to use it and misplace the sheath.

In my mind it is still a knife , shaped like a hatchet sure but still a knife;)

That's why this style is always made by knife companies and paired with a hunting knife, really they're more of a cleaver than hatchet.

Now that I have it in my possession, I see what you mean. It’s a light handy little hatchet. And the 107?, oh my! what a nice little knife. I had no idea. I’ll post better pictures over the weekend.

Imperial made something like this, as did Utica, kabar maybe, and there were even blade changers with " hatchet " blades.

My thought is that it's really a game processing tool that's more of a cleaver, but shaped like and called a hatchet for marketing.

I think most would be very disappointed with such tools as a hatchet, but while I'm not a hunter I could see one being great in a game butchering role.
