For general camping chores, chopping, splitting (with a baton), pounding tent pegs, cooking, making kindling, I currently use a Gerber Back Pack Axe:

The handle is a bit short for me.

I was thinking about a CS Trailhawk or a Wetterlings. Can anyone make a recommendation for me?

have you considered the longer version of that same axe? same head i believe, with a 14" handle.

its a great hatchet that is lightweight but packs alot of chopping power.

i thinned out the grind on mine and use it for wood shaping alot...i recently used mine to turn a board into an axe handle, it worked great!

If your choice is between the CS Trailhawk or a Wetterlings, I'd go with the latter if you intend to do a lot of chopping. Better steel, edge geometry, handle, etc.
