Hate for serrations?

I think serrations especially comboedges suck. I don't think any high end production high quality knife should come with any serrations. A blade made out of VG-10 or S30V does not deserve serrations. Serrations in my opinion is for knife steels that can't hold an edge like the super steels. That's why you see late night TV knives on QVC are always serrated, and saying "We took this knife to concrete and it's still razor sharp!" It's not sharp it just rips, serrations in my opinion don't cut they rip, and therefore don't need super edge holding steels. A dull serrated blade will usually still work forever as long as those teeth are still there.

High end steels don't deserve serrations, if you want a serrated blade you don't need VG-10 or S30V as it wont really do anything for it that a 420HC blade won't do.

Wow!!! because you don't care or you "HATE" serrations no one else should be given the opportunity to own a serrated knife in premium steels. A little one sided don't you think? I love people who want things they don't like to be flat out abolished ....:grumpy::thumbdn:

It's a lot like ice cream. Some folks like vanilla. Others like chocolate. Still others like both. Nothing wrong with either flavor. They're just different.

My own cutting needs don't require serrations so I don't buy serrated knives. If the cutting jobs were different, then I'd choose the appropriate edge, just as one might choose the right construction (folder or fixed blade,) blade shape and steel type.

...so one-dimensionally opinionated; you must live your life with blinders...and of course you're always right...

I have always wanted to get a 110 with a ~Serrated S30V blade~ It's good to hear someone has one and appreciates it!;)

The absolute BEST serrations are on the Victorinox One Hand Trekker.
Combined with the slim chisel grind, they cut like fury.
AND they are where they perform best.... the FRONT of the blade.
A mighty slicey setup.
