I was looking for a certain knife as it was being discontinued and was discounted. Found a deal but waited. Kept thinking it would go down alittle more, then was going to pull the trigger. Just to find out, that deal had passed...

Shoot... kicking myself...

Yup, there was a discontinued spidie I had my eye on at a dealer for an outrageous price.. somebody wanted it more than I did. It was sitting there for 3-4 months. I kept on checking every once and a while to see if it'd drop but it didn't.

Oh well, there's always the next one in this game.

I am the guy you get stuck behind when you are running late.
I am the guy that gets the last piece of pie.
I am the guy who buys the last snow shovel before the storm and you see me on line in front of you.
I am the guy who bought the last knives and they will sit unused in my safe until you buy another knife then I will list them in the exchange.
I am the good fortune of everyone and noone.

Unfortunately, this is my perspective of this person as well. I have missed my fair share of objects (fishing reels, surf boards, knives, et al) and the song doesn't change, just the instrument...

I had something similar happen on a limited run knife. Wanted a Cold Steel AK in XHP with the brown scales but other knives took buying Priority several times first, finally went to go buy it one day and BHQ had sold out...oh well!

Another thing...part of me wishes I had bought about 15 Kershaw pistons when they were being made. I had one for awhile, got bored with it and sold it on the exchange for a price well below what I had paid. A few months later it was discontinued and has developed a bit of a following, I have gotten numerous PMs asking if I still had it for sale (like 8) and just recently saw a LNIB example sell for about 40% over in production street price on here.

Tell me you found an even better deal later on... Keep hope alive...

Nah I haven't picked one up yet. One day I will find one. I'm fairly patient when I buy knives. I have one inbound but the the one before it was 8-9 months ago. I already have enough knives to outlast me. I can wait for the ones I really want.

Glad I'm not alone fellas... This feeling sucks...

All I wanted was a deal... It was a Benchmade 707bk and/or limited edition that slipped right pass me as I let it marinate a little...

Well like you guys said "on to the next" and "the song plays on"...

Currently doing the same thing on a BM Ritter Grip, but thanks to this I'm going to just pull the trigger before it's too late.

waited . . .then was going to pull the trigger Just to find out, that deal had passed...

Yes . . . I know the feeling . . . kind of like stepping in dog doo.

Do you know my rehandle project for the Urban Trapper ?

Anyway the only way I could get the grip I wanted was to buy a knife that was out of production and remove the handle, cut it up and remake it onto the Trapper. Through e-mails with various vendors I finally tracked down one that still had the knife in stock, an older one, . . . fact is they had seven of them.

So like a dud I waited till morning to order. This was just before Christmas. By morning ALL OF THEM had sold.

So I started over tracking down what I wanted. I wound up ordering like three knives just to get a handle. There is a newer version with a handle that sucks so I learned finally not to just order without talking to the vendor. Some would show the old model but ship the new model.

Fun, fun, fun

This (second from left) (first from left has the same handle but it is so cool I wanted to use it as is)

to this . . . but it was ALLLLLL worth it !

@ wowbag - stepping on dog poo is right. You feel like this could have been avoided with a little attention to detail.

@jfin - Do it.

ak4seven,

I find there is something worse :

Seeing / finding out about / watching an old YouTube about . . . a very cool Great Eastern Cutlery slippy then going to buy one and discovering I am too late and there isn't even one in the exchange. Just GONE. Horded. Because it is so cool.

I am so DANGED tired of going there.
You don't even get a chance to pull the trigger. Just KO'd
sigh
