On 10/26 I won an Ebay auction for a Starmate from Westicle. This was to be a Christmas present for my son. On 10/27 I emailed Wes letting him know I recognized him from Bladeforums. His response was a very generous offer to cross ship the knife and payment. On 10/29 I let him know that a USPS m.o. was on the way. On 11/4 I contact him to make sure payment has arrived (no knife yet). On the 6th he says due to various personal issues the knife hasn't gone out, but will on the 7th. O.K. That's cool. On 11/21 I try again. No knife, what's up? He replies that he sent the knife 10 days earlier, but had used the wrong zip code so it was sent back. He will re-send that day (11/22). I mailed again 12/2 and have left 2 messages on his home phone, but he hasn't contacted me in any fashion.

I think Wes is probably a decent guy, but I am at a loss as to what the problem is. If anybody knows how to successfully contact him maybe you could direct his attention this way. I'd like to get this settled before having to pursue it through Ebay, the USPS, (the Mounties) :) etc. Thanks.

Just to add on, I once bought a Russell hunter from Canada, it took close to 3 months to get to the U.S. .
 
Look as was explained to jack, he caught me in the middle of moving.... yes it has been 5 weeks since the close of auction. My computer crashed and I lost all the info until nov. 15 when his money order arrived.

A money Order which I might add is useless to me since I live in Canada. what part of the big red letters on the money order did you not understand "NOT NEGOTIABLE OUTSIDE THE USA"

Anyway the package was mailed today to him, now all I have to do is try to get my money for the item..... the hassle of cancelling a US Postal Money Order is going to be a pain on Jacks Part and the deal probably won't be done for at least another 4-6 weeeks before I see any money.

So sorry for shipping late but if you have ever moved you know what a hassle it is to find stuff after you packed them.

NOTE: I have edited-out the picture of the Money Order, since it included the address of both folks involved in this problem.

Kinda ironic now isn't it? Furthermore, Wes, every time that you explained you had a problem I said it was cool. Just keep me informed. If you had replied to any of my recent inquiries or phone calls this would already be resolved. How would you take it if after six weeks someone had your money and your knife and wouldn't respond to your very civil questions?

I apologize for the money order. On your auction it stated that you would ship anywhere and accepted paypal or money orders. Not international money orders, just money orders. Still, I wasn't sure. That's why I asked. If you send the money order back I'll talk to the post office in the morning. It looks like it might be possible for you to sign it over to me and I'll just get it reissued in a form that you can use. If there was a problem I wish you had notified me weeks ago. I'll post here when the knife arrives so I know you'll see it.

BTW-thanks for posting my personal info on the web. Very classy of you.

Hey, today is the first day I have had computer access in over a month except for the one at work which won't let me send email or surf 80% of the world wide web.

as to posting your personal info, sorry that was a mistake on my part...but then I didn't start this thread, you did. the USPS sells INTERNATIONAL money orders and when you asked me if a USPS money order was fine I said Yes, never had anyone not understand that they need to get an International one before.

today is the day that the bank returned your money order to me, so before today I though all was good, then I get my mail from the homeowner of the house I lived in before and nice letter from the bank was waiting for me. I only get my mail from my old address once or twice a month since it is out of the way for me to drive out there.

Anyway, I sent your starmate along with a bonus gift of a Pelican penlight with a light bender attachment, hope that works out for you.
 
I'm not interested in this becoming a pissing match, Wes, but I started this thread because it was seemingly the only way I could get a hold of you. And I'm curious since you're busting my ass for sending the wrong money order why you bothered to deposit it. Remember the big red letters? "NOT NEGOTIABLE OUTSIDE THE USA" Oh well, I guess it is easier to miss than you might think.

Anyway, I appreciate the gesture on the pelican. I'll post here tomorrow when I find out the quickest way to get your money to you.

Here's the word from the Post Office, Wes. Since it has gone through the bank they will have to reissue a new one (time frame approx. 2 weeks). If it was pristine they could have just cashed it for me. So, if you head it this way I'll get the process started.

donovan, it is pristine, and unsigned..... I have it right here and it is as it appears in the picture.

the bank couldn;t cash it so they returned it to me.

I'm sure that Wes wasn't aware there were two different types of USPS-MO's

Wes,, this can be settled easily by having Don reissue a new International USPS MO. He will need the original as well as the recipt to be able to do this..

I accept both types of MO's as i'm only 1hr away and do a considerable amount of shopping in the states (Cabelas) :)

Lets get this resolved guys, you are both stand up guys..

still haven't had a chance to mail the money order back but should have it done by the end of the week depending on work schedule.
 
I got the Starmate, Wes, so we're halfway there. As soon as I get the old m.o. back I'll post you out a new one immediately. Ordinarily, I'd just go ahead and do it, but without the original I'm kind of screwed. Thanks for seeing it through.
