I placed an order with Kovals Wednesday night about five minutes before they closed. My house is impossible to find, and today, Friday, I got a call from UPS asking where the heck my house is! Now THAT's fast! The wait to get it on Monday will be longer than it took to get here! Good going, guys!

Yeah, well I got $40 worth of ATS from Koval that cost $60 to ship to Australia!! That is complete BS in my book (it was 2 x 18" lengths ie not much). I emailed 'em and got "well, that's the way it goes"

Oh yeah, while I'm whining, their 0.050" titanium varied from 0.040 to 0.058 across a square foot and resulted in a junked liner (mismatch) after drilling and tapping...beware....I'll now get my ti from Chuck and steel from TKS etc
 
I am fortunate enough to live about 2 hours from Koval and can visit their shop. They run a top notch operation and are very nice people to boot!

I have never had a single problem when ordering or with the quality of the items they stock.
 
Shipping options are always available to a customer. $60 looks like US air mail or UPS. It will always cost a bunch more if you want it NOW!!!. Slow boat mail would have cost you about $20 or less. Then you must add your Australian customs charges on top of the purchase price. How much is that? 50 percent? Australia is a great place to live and visit, but not if you need stuff from some where else...

Yep, you're sorta right there Larry, though there's no customs duty on small chunks of steel. I know from sending knives to the US that sending that particular package from here would have cost US$20 for insured airmail...
that's the way it goes though

My whinging is more a warning to other overseas folk, am glad that Koval is working out for the locals
