Have a knife with G-10 and a Black light???

Very interesting!

I checked out my Buck-Strider folder and my Benchmade 806D2 AFCK. The AFCK stays black (i.e. it reflects the purple). The Buck-Strider non-clip side is also black. But the clip side glows green, looks really cool.

I suspect that it has something to do with the amount of finishing that is done to the G10. The AFCK has very smooth scales, and the Buck-Strider's non-clip side is smoother than the clip side. So the smooth G10 does not glow green, at least in my limited sample of 2 knives.

added:
The unsanded surfaces of the G10 on the Buck-Strider also glow green, even on the non-clip side. This is all along the side edge of the G10. So I suspect that the non-clip G10 slab face was sanded down a bit at the factory, giving it a smoother finish that will not eat pockets.

As far as I understand G-10 is a glassfiber/epoxy laminate. Most reinforcing glass does not fluoresce? but epoxies mostly do, usually in a blue-white color. If some lacquer is used that'll propably affect the laminates behaviour.
