Have any of your Cold Steel machete handles broken from normal use?

I was looking at several Cold Steel machete reviews and found reports of broken handles. The hard plastic handles that the Cold Steel machetes have seem very tough. This is why I am a bit surprised that any of these have broke.

I have not seen one break and I never seen one broken except for one that went through a 4 wheeler accident.

I have a couple, one Latin machete that I cut down to a clip point, and one Magnum Kukri machete. Both handles rattle slightly but are still in one piece. I have abused the cut down Latin machete but have not abused the Magnum Kukri. I recently used the Kukri to cut down some ~2" saplings in my field with incredibly forceful swings and everything has held together fine.

The cut down latin machete has been thoroughly abused. It's chopped through 4" white oak limbs repeatedly, been thrown, been pried with, has been stabbed into thick wood for fun, has been used to baton through logs, and has even been used to baton lengthwise through tin roofing for a chicken house when I didn't have a tool to do the job. It's been put through more abuse than a proof video, but no broken handles or broken blades here. I'm not a Cold Steel fanboy but they do make some unreasonably tough machetes.

It's probably a QC issue. There is a small chance that you get a bad handle, maybe with a small void in the plastic in a bad spot. I have owned the bolo and magnum kukri, and neither one had a problem with the handle despite hitting things with all the force I had. But I was hitting so hard because neither one would hold an edge and I was essentially bludgeoning my way through brush. Solid handle, though, on a crap blade.

I have had a coldsteel kukri for several years now. Granted, it doesn't see alot of use. But when I do use it, it gets abused. No problems to write about. Its a pretty tough chopper.

I have a Latin machete that I like better than most others. It's been used pretty hard for years. Usually clearing brush around campsites and cutting cedar limbs here and there. Seems like it's going to last forever.

I also don't think cold steel machete steel is as soft as people say. Seems just fine to me.

I've used my Cold Steel jungle machete and never had any issues, but I don't use it a ton or anything, either.

I have a kukri that a beat the snot out of. Have beat the handle with a baton, dropped, thrown and its still kickin like the day I got it. I convexed the edge and its an excellent chopper, especially considering the cost.
