It's been a little slow around here so I thought I'd show some new Schrades I received recently.

This LB7 was described as a proto from the factory collection and has handles of yellow micarta laminated with red spacers. What makes this knife really different is that the handles and bolsters are all rounded over, giving this knife a very slim profile compared to a regular LB7.

This scan came out too dark to really tell, but this is the proto compared to a regular LB7:

This is an LB7DP with Rosewood colored handles and with 440 Stainless etched on the blade:

I also picked up some older 4 pin LB7's, 1 with black micarta scales, 1 with yellow micarta scales, and 3 of the old Rosewood handled knives with serial numbers, one of which is NIB. Two of the serial numbers are all numeric, which makes them the oldest LB7's I now have.

Show off those knives if you got some new ones. :)

Awhile back, I posted this photo of a Schrade/Copenhagen LB7 with a blued carbon steel blade:

I have picked up a couple of similar LB7's since then, all with 4 pins, black micarta handles, and blued carbon steel blades. This one is a Copenhagen without the Pro Rodeo etch on the blade:

This is a year 2000 DU:

This is a year 2000 Canadian DU with the etching in French:

Wow! Those are nice. Thanks for posting the pictures. I have gotten ahold of a couple new Old Timers. A 152 and a 104. Nothing fancy but I am glad to get them. Happy hunting.

I agree. beauties eh?
And the candy stripe is sweet too.
Thanks for showing.
Larry.

I picked up my firsts of these over the weekend:

SP1 and a 5OT Green. I was bidding on a 58OT to start my Prince Albert set and lost it by a buck. Damn!

(waliguy needs to be patient!)

Cool knives, but I am partial to the micarta and the blued blades LB7.
Good going all the way around.

My take since Saturday: one of the many places on my 'Schrade Route' through town was holding this near mint 5OT in sheath for me. $9.00.

The two delrins shown... a 505sc stockman (mint, excellent condition) and the big LB sized lockback 507SC, I bought from a wholesaler. We are getting down to the dregs of the Schrade factory knives. The LB was filthy, and advertised as such. Bolsters need polishing, which I can do on the buffer.
$18 for the stockman, $20 for the LB.

My lasted editions, the Beast, a nice little LB5 and although not a Schrade a nice USA made knife just the same, the Piranha PH1.

I must say that the Beast is just that, a Beast. Until I looked at it in this picture, I would have thought it could win the ugliest knife contest but now I guess it doesn't look that bad.For less than 20 bucks with shipping I couldn't turn it down.

Thanks Rick

Redshanks,I 've got some questions on LB7's.Why were they moving the lockbar pin up and back, age doesn't seem to matter as some 4 pins and some 3 pins vary. The size of the pins also seems to vary.Blade length varies as much as 1/2 an inch on some of mine. These have not been sharpened.Last the differences in the spacers at the rear of the knife. The construction of knife is completely different at the rear. Some have 1 spacer some have 2.Sorry for all the questions but I've spent about 4 hours looking for answers and found little. No not Michael.Arnold

Toby, I don't think I can answer that except to guess. Some of the changes may have been the result of costs or manufacturing efficiencies. Moving the lock pin closer to the front bolster may have been to make more room on the handle for shields or commemorative coins on special editions. My knives with Delrin and micarta scales do have larger pins, maybe it has something to do with this material as opposed to the winewood scales. The year 2000 black DU's shown above have 4 pins, maybe the frames were old stock left over from an earlier special series.

When DebbieUH used to post here, she was able to answer a lot of questions like yours. Maybe ISC RIP can shed some light on the differences in the LB7 line. I look for differences in the LB7's I buy, but I haven't reached the point where I get in a frenzy over subtle nuances like the collectors of Buck 110's do.

This is my first time attempting to post a picture so we'll see how it goes. I just got this 153UH that I was going to give to my brother until it arrived and I discovered that half of the blade was cut off. So I was wonerding if you guys knew where I could get a replacement blade along with some brief instructions. I'm assuming it wont be too difficult but any pointers would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e116/cykc/Hpim0073.jpg

Apparently making the picture show up in the post is too intricate for a feeble minded member such as myself.

Wasn't this the one where the seller mentioned that he slammed the truck door on the brand new knife his wife had just given him? E-mail me.

cykc,
Looks like you used the link button instead of the picture button. (the one with the mountain and the tiny sun)
Keep posting pictures you'll figure it out

I'm afraid there isn't the option of a "replacement" blade unless you are referring to a whole knife.

Best bet is to watch for a 'complete' 153UH on e bay, (and maybe have Paul make a "shorty" sheath for this one).

For some reason the bottom seems to have dropped out of 153UH price now on EBAY.I bought the last 2 I bought on the cheap. Both nice users with sheaths.Shop for deals.Arnold

This is the knife I carry these days SS30, not the best or the prettiest made by Schrade, but it fits nicely in you pocket.

Redshanks; If you run into another red bone serrated trapper you don't want for yourself, please let me know. Thanks

Paul

Paul, I've only seen one other ever listed and it was by a different seller. If I ever see one again, I'll either let you know or buy it for you if I can. This is a very unusual knife and the bone is beautiful.
