have to be a GOLD member to have avatar?

just wondering, is it true? Do i have to buy in to have an avatar or am i just clueless as to how to add one?

An avatar is a thumbnail picture a paid member can post next to his name as an identifier.

You may need to turn the avatar and signature line function on to see them. Go down the left side of your User CP to Edit Options, then down to Thread Display Options.
