Have to return my Paramilitary 2 tomorrow and have a dilema

like the thread says... I have to return my paramilitary 2 due to a blade blemish and the crazy idea went through my head to maybe exchange it for a Knifeworks exclusive ZT 0350 (satin finish vs black)

I have a para 2 in M390 on preorder (coming in spring)
so i guess my late night flaky decision is either return the s30v para 2 and just exchange or get the kW 0350 ZT

anyone have any thoughts or opinions?

Didn't you say you had a CTS20P on the way too? If so, I'd be tempted to get the 0350. If this is your only para 2 until the m390 then I'd say stick with the P2. It's a lot easier to carry than most ZTs. Honestly I find myself starting to grab for the thinner folders these days and my bigger knives sit in the drawer.
 
They're completely different knives in terms of feel. What makes the Para 2 so popular is the blade shape and handle ergonomics, the ZT is fat and bulky. I personally have a regular s30v (black blade) and the sprint run s90v para 2's and both are in my EDC rotation.
 
yeah sold my cts-20cp to a friend seeing as i owned a s30v and pre ordered a m390.... i will most likely just get the s30v one back that was if the blue scales suck on the m390 i can put black ones on it :)
 
Personally, I would carry and use the Spydie more, but the ZT is a fine knife. I have owned one and it is the heavier duty choice, but the inferior slicer.
 
Im not a knife expert, but by looking at the pics, and just in my opinion Id get the ZT instead.

But whatever you decide will be fine, they are both nice knives...cant go wrong with either.
 
that ZT is sweet. Frankly, if you buy it and hate it, I am sure you can sell it for about the same price you paid for it or trade it for another para 2.
 
i dont think you could go wrong either way. i have both the para2 and a ZT 0350 and like them both equally.
 
The ZT is a clunky brick. I have one and it has never come out of the box where the Para gets carried everyday. As much as you were talking about the 20CP version I'm surprised you got rid of it. Heck it was a conspiracy there for awhile.
 
well i realized after holding a s30v in my hands as well as a cts-20cp and with an M390 on the horizon..i dont need 3 of the same knife.. i have another friend into knives and he was begging me for it so i sold it to him for cost...im going to keep the s30v (after its exchanged) and just use that until my M390 comes.. heck im thinking of scale swapping depending on what color blue they choose to make it.. i have a brand new DMT aligner system so im more than capable of doing touchups on s30v when needed :)
 
He was begging you for it cause 20cp has one of if not the highest edge retention for a folder steel being used in production knives right now.
 
i know the cts has better edge retention (hence why i bought it) but my buddy wanted it sold me being the good friend i am let him have it.. the s30v will server just fine until the M390 para 2 i pre ordered comes... im no stranger to sharpening and s30v will serve me well... so to wrap things up im keeping the s30v para 2 ill use it till the m390 comes out and possible put the black scales on it...

Doesn't sound that flaky. Unless you want both Para2s. The ZT is a great knife.

They are somewhat different knives.
As noted, the ZT is beafier and the Para a better slicer.
I've got a Para2, but my ZT350KW is what I've been carrying every day for a couple of years.
 
Did not expect the para's blade to be thicker than the ZT. My vote is the para, the ZT is a good knife but it's a brick. I sold mine.
 
man you are making it tough......now im back to liking the ZT 0350 i have till tomorrow morning to decide ..(para 2 gets returned for either replacement or exchanged)

my only reasoning for getting the 0350 is that i have a para 2 in M390 coming on preorder
