Have to return my Paramilitary 2 tomorrow and have a dilema

Is it my imagination or is the Spyderco thicker at the spine? Thought I read somewhere the Paramilitary has a 3.5mm blade stock thinckness. Both are nice knives for sure, like the extra handle on the Spyderco.

honestly. make life easy, and get both. :D

and yes the para2 is thicker. i think it is 4mm thick (.156") and the ZT is .121". that said, the ZT has a thicker tip.

The para2 is ~3.5mm (3.65mm to be exact) thick. Checked myself with a set of calipers

well either .5mm is very minute, or its 4mm.

here it is with my para1 (which was advertised as 4mm)

well i pretty much just cut cardstock and boxes.. and the occasion zip tie and random object... its a tough choice... i have never held the ZT0350 and it would suck if i didnt like it ... im sure kw would be less than thrilled for me to return it and change back to a para 2 again...

man you are making it tough......now im back to liking the ZT 0350 i have till tomorrow morning to decide ..(para 2 gets returned for either replacement or exchanged)

my only reasoning for getting the 0350 is that i have a para 2 in M390 coming on preorder

Decisions decisions! Sounds like you really want to try the 350KW, and why not...its a great knife, I love mine (not that I don't love the Para2 also).
And it ain't like you won't be able to get the standard Para2 later.

Either will certainly handle those tasks.

If shipping costs are factoring into your decision, the the 350 ships free all the time from KW.

Always the best choice, and usually what I wind up doing....I suck at making decisions. :D

you could always sell/trade it. i have large hands, the 0350 is comfy but there is not a whole lot of extra handle when i hold it. there is just enough room for my hand to get a decent grip.

Get the ZT0350, i really like mine, plus you will have another para soon enough.

In my "tactical" days I bought a Zero Tolerance 0350, and didn't like the thing at all. The pocket clip is super stiff, and it just doesn't fit in my hand very well. I say check with the Spyderco, or better yet go traditional :D

well the para 2 is much lighter and pocket friendly.. ahh decisions decisions.. so many knives not enough $$$ LOL

Come on its not that your buying a car, for 95 bucks you buy a Para 2 in S30V, buy it or both and don't look back.. Its not a major investment

i know its not like buying multiple sebenzas but i do have other hobbies etc and my son like me to buy him things on occasion... wife also :)

I'd say just stick with the Para 2, especially if it's a knife you know you like and will carry, and pick up the ZT as funds permit. But this advice comes from a bonafide Spyderco fan-boy who has never owned a ZT: the only one I really like the look of is the 0551.

Good luck! :)

yeah im most likely going to stick with the para2 the increased weight of the ZT along with people posting it being
a brick in pocket make me think i wont enjoy carrying it .. (im in FL i wear shorts almost year round)

The 350 is a bit heavy (but its kinda a heavy use folder)...I carried the 200KW for a while and that makes the 350 seem quite lite by comparison. ;)

One poster was correct, the pocket clip is VERY stiff (arent most ZTs?) but I never clip it so it doesn't matter.

Nothing wrong with sticking with the Para2...great knife. And as was mentioned you can pick up the 350KW later.

It doesn't feel like a brick in the pocket for me. The 0300 does but not the 0350. I love my 0350 ,lock up is solid, speed safe is super fast and for me it rides nice. I also like their clips alot better then benchmades standard clips

I have both, and I can tell you that they are both amazing in different ways. Get whatever one you want but know that in the end you will probably get both if you are anything like the rest of us. I will say the para 2 is the most recent for me and is currently getting more pocket time, but before that the ZT was with me every day at work :)

I took the pulnge...!!! i called and im exchanging for the Knifeworks exclusive ZT0350 satin finish plain edge.. i figure if i really miss the para 2 in s30v i can easily replace it.. not sure if KW will sell out on this knife.. and i have an M390 para 2 coming ... besides my Birthday is in October and xmas is coming :)... im going from a Ritter grip for my EDC maybe it will be an easier transition..

I don't have a ZT 350 but I do carry a ZT301 paired with a para 2. These slicer/heavy duty combo covers my needs
