Hello guys:)

Today i bring you the most difficult question of all!
Have you already found the "perfect" knife?

Well, I believe i have!
By perfect i mean the one that fills all your wants, the one that covers all your needs, the one that carries best, that cuts better...

Mine's the small Sebenza 21 Insingo!

I carry it in a custom made sheath.

For the first time, since i started collecting, i've been EDCing this knife for a almost a month exclusively and it has proven to be OUTSTANDING!!!
I've been using my knife more than i normally do because i'm away from home and man, i couldn't ask for anything more!
I've used it for food prep, cardboard, wood carving and cutting a car mat:eek:
It still shaves hair with a bank vault lockup and fantastic smoothness!

I know most of the replies will be that you still haven't found it:) but, if not, what's the closest one to perfect that you own?
Tell us a bit about it;)

Pics are very much encouraged

I find the perfect one in my mailbox quiet frequently, until the next perfect one shows up in my mailbox. This pattern tends to repeat itself.

another happy customer:)

been collecting for 3 years now and i realize there is not a "perfect" knife for everything. different knife excels in different areas. some days i prefer a FFG someday i prefer a saber...there is no one "perfect" thing for everything.....only the best for the task you ask for.

anyways back on topic....my favs are

Spyderco military
Spyderco caly 3.5
Hogue ex01 3.5" drop
benchmade mini grip
Emerson cqc 8

Close, but not quite. I do have a couple on order though, so give me a week or two.

Yeah I already found the perfect slipjoint and fixed blade. Locking folder on the other hand, I guess I have to wait til my XM-18 shows up in the next couple of days. :D

Case Peanut CV, ESEE 3.

I will be surprised if anything ever replaces some variant of the Paramilitary 2 as my EDC.

That is right! And besides I own quite a few perfect ones already: they just stay perfect! Like a few BM 805 and 800 I have got, three Kershaw Boas, a few Lum Chinese Folders that I have stashed in my closet, various Enduras and Delicas - with damascus blade and with ZDP, couple of old Ti framelock Kershaw Spec Bumps and similarly regular ones with 3D handle, Emerson CQC 8, BM DeJavoos regular and mini versions, Mini-Onslaugh - very sweet knife, Spydercos 3.5 Caly, Fallkniven F1, Peltonen M07 and Spyderco Bill Moran.... Too many to list all!

Well for me it's, Les George VECP, Will Zermeno Pointman, and mini grip.

Fixed blade is my Busse NMSFNO.

The Para2 is close it's beat out several knifes costing a lot more and I absolutely love the compression lock.

Well......
This is a very hard question.
There are lots of knives on my wish list. Lots of which I wont have for quite some time because of price.
These knives include Spyderco, Chris Reeve, and Strider.
I would put Hinderer on there, but I really can't see spending that much on a knife even if I had it. If I did, I would be so scared to break it, it wouldnt leave my house.
So, as of right now, I always go back to this.

My Spyderco Paramilitary is pretty much as close to perfect as I' ve ever gotten and it' s been that way for nearly 2 years now. But I don' t really believe I' ll ever find the "be-all-end-all" knife for me. I mean, where' s the fun in having perfection?:D

I have 2.
The ZT 0560, and Spyderco Chokwe.
I've had several knives since them and there just isn't one that will replace them.
They are both frequently carried. I was carrying my Stretch with my ZT. But it just isn't the Chokwe.
Here they are with new matching pants.

There are so many reasons to carry, and so many things to cut, I don't think there can be a perfect knife.
But I have found my perfect EDC. Like many others here, it's the Para2:

I've carried it, and used it, nearly every day since it arrived at the first of the year.

I respect and enjoy the CRKs, but I can see pros and cons to Large and Small, Classic and Insingo, Umnumzaan and Mnandi - and I can't afford a set of each, so to date I have passed. For me, the Para2 handles like a Large, carries like a Small, is strong like a Zaan, has all the quality/precision/fit-n-finish I can use, and costs less than any of them.

I have carried some version of the Endura for the last 7 years and the G-10 for the last 4 1/2. I started getting the itch earlier in the year to find something new and tried many including a beautiful S35V Sebenza, but it was a no go. So I have resolved that I am the dog that caught the car, so what to do now....I've somewhat moved onto Traditionals, but I'm still not above getting a new Spydero time to time.
