Have you ever been looked down upon regarding knives by those who have no clue?

I'm usually the guy with the nice knives but I never look down on anybody regardless of their knife knowledge or what knives they're carrying. A lot of my coworkers carry $5 knives and I still get genuinely excited and play around with them just because it's a knife.

Not to my face. I only see that sort of thing on forums. But I left California many years ago and live in a state where knives are pretty commonplace. Even when I lived in California it was before the state turned completely to crap. I carried a small pen knife to school as a kid (as did most normal boys in those days), carried a Buck 110 on my belt as a cop in the 70's, and a Buck 501 in my pocket until I left in the early 90's.

If I had a nickel for everytime somebody told me my knife was illegal because the blade was longer than my palm, I would be rich.

These people out here have absolutely no clue what the knife laws are and frankly they have no idea what their Bill of Rights are. I think I'm just gonna stop correcting them and play it off as if what they said is true.

I have had so many people try to give me whatever misinformation they think is fact as a reason my knife is illegal. I just tell them I read the laws and not to worry about it. One guy killed me though. This guy tells me that the handle on my Alan Davis custom is "lackluster" and I should have had it skeletonized. I just laughed and told him it looks fine to me!

Everyone at my work and in my circles knows I'm a knife guy. My boss loves "borrowing" my knives to play with. I always warn him they're sharp. I handed my ZT 0350 to my buddy at work and he replied "Now that's a knife". :D

Are you saying your folding knife is a custom Koster? Or just the fixed blade?

Touché, the folding knife is a FPR Kershaw Onion Ti Bump. #30 According to the blade stamp. But I almost never require use of it.

I was gonna say, I'd love to see that knife. He's going to start production of a folding version of his bushcraft knife (but I'll bet you knew that). I don't have one yet, but his bushmaster is on the top if my list.
