Have you ever bought a Becker blade on a suggestion or recommendation?

In today's electronic world, much like the frontier days, we rely so much on the opinion of our friends, colleagues, and fellow afficianados... Today, because very few brick and mortars exist either near us, or with a full compliment of brands, models, and varieties, we purchase on line. Similarly, folks in the frontier days bought from the local mercantile, or through catalogs.
Today, like then, we do not always have the opportunity to handle, examine, or use a knife (or much else, for that matter) most things we buy. Whether from a lack of a local B&M or their lack of product, we research online for information. We look in the areas of or needs and/or interests first. Then we hit the sites selling our desires based on what others review, think or recommend. Next we research further, and look in specific areas (forums) catering to those recommendations or ideas. Eventually, we make a purchase.

In the interest of brevity, I will dispense with further rhetoric, and simply ask. What Becker knife, if any, did you buy on recommendation. That recommendation could have come from anywhere, but please refer to the source in your reply.

I'll go first.

My first Becker was a BK2.... I bought it after reading about it on a few survival forums, and then coming here (the BF Becker forum) and seeing a few reviews, videos, and confirmations from other users.
Moose having the most impact on my decision. Not because he is Moose, but because of his sincere beliefs, usage and faith in this model, and his various videos on his usage.

I like the BK2. I haven't used it a great deal, but, with what little I do know, it was a great investment in a quality product.

I have since purchased more beckers. Some by recommendation, some by desire.

My latest purchase based on a personal recommendation, and my belief in a true contented user was the BK5, recommended by Clich. I do use the hell out of this blade. Based on what I like in a knife, and his undying love of it, I grabbed one. It is my favorite Becker to date, the BK2 being a tight second.

I have more than a few, but less than all, of the models... Gimme time.

But, back to the original topic....

What Becker(s), if any, did you buy on recommendation. Who gave you the final push, and are you pleased in following the recommendation(s) ?

PS
I know this wasn't brief, but then again, I'm a Scoutmaster....(Google Scoutmaster's Minute)

All of them, lol.

Initially it was the 9, based on the recommendation of the Mad Ogre.

Then the 2, by Equipped2Endure.

The 5 because of Clich's love of the knife and his awesome, modded Snakeskin 5.

And the rest, just cuz I needed them all once my addiction was in full swing.

I picked up the BK16 at the gathering this spring because I was sick of all the "hype". It wasn't hype, it's truly a damned good design and a great piece of steel. Moose can tell ya, I wasn't easily converted. I got the BK16 and it hasn't came off my hip much since.

I bought a BK2 because of Brab's torture thread.....the rest because I saw them on here in all their modded glory and had to have them all.

I bought my first Becker because I saw them in a catalog and the BK-5 really spoke to me.

Then a few years later I bought a Patrol Machete.

And a few years later I bought a BK-7.

Then a BK-9HH.

Then I bought a BK-7 for my brother, followed by a BK-11 a few christmasses later.

I like the BK-11 and so I got myself one.

Then I bought a wonderful BK-15.

So no, I got myself in this mess and so mostly I've bought Beckers because of the previous Beckers I've bought, which means I'll buy more of them.

First one a guy at my work showed me. It was a BK2.
Bk-5 thanks to clich.
Bk4's, Just look at em whats not to like.

Survival site said Bk1 brute ($85.00) was the ultimate survival knife. I went looking for said knife. No where to be had. It started to show up on the bay at $220 plus. I delved deeper into the Becker catalog and bought a 9. Best decision yet. You all know it just grows from there. Next 2,11,3,14,4. I finally got my Brute last week, a decent price, Blackjack and pristine. I'm not sure what I want to do with it though! So the story goes eh?

Ditto...but I was still a little skeptical so I stared small and ordered a bk11. Then after messing with it for an hour I ordered a bk2. No regrets at all.

I was into Ontarios and Buck Hoodlums and Junglass'.
I knew Beckers were out there from watching NutNFancy on u-tube, but never owned or even held one. Then an acquaintance, an old-time tactical instructor, asked me to camo DuraCoat a Camillus BK-9 that he'd kept lashed to the roll bar of his UTV and had used it for years to do everything from digging to cutting rappelling rope to firewood. I did that job, marveling how easy it was to work on when you can take the scales off, then got a -9 of my own. Compared side-by-side to his I was a little disappointed because my new one was so much thinner, so I made scale spacers. That was my first Becker mod that started it all.
Every Becker after that (and I mean multiples of EVERY Becker that is currently manufactured) came as a result of some posted thread on this Forum.

Yep, I bought the BK2 (my first Becker) at the suggestion of a friend, with an assist from Equip2Endure and HedgeHog LeatherWorks on YouTube.

From there, additional Beckers were purchased based on my own experience with the general quality of the knives, and with different blade profiles I was interested in.

I blame my BK2 purchase on Brab. Also my Phat Bob on Moose. Clich has certainly got me thinking about the 5 and 15, although I note he doesn't have any in his collection right now...

I bought the BK16 due mostly to the huge amount of positive things said about it here. When I first picked it up, I think I found my soul mate. I'm probably going to be buying the 4 based off of the same thing...your responses to its performance. I'm skeptical but I'm going to give it a go. I just have to decide if I want the 9 before I get the 4.

Well I was planning on picking up a 14 from all y'all's recommendations. The thing that pushed me over the edge was the Ka-Bar booth at the NRA convention- couldn't pass one up for the price they were charging. i am very happy with my purchase, it's in my pocket right now. :)

Same here (well I don't have multiples of every Becker, but you get the idea).

My first was a BK2 after researching for a good knife I stumbled my way here. Then I found on here that the BK14 was released. Then Clich sold me and everyone else here a BK5 :D Then Kabar had to go and release the BK10LE, which I found out about here. Then a 9 just seemed appropriate. After seeing endless photos, prototypes, and teases I had to order the BK16 as soon as humanly possible.

So which Beckers have I bought on a recommendation? All of them I suppose.

I got my BK2 because of you guys. I was looking into a couple of fixed blades for camping/hiking and after seeing all the pretty BK2s I couldn't help myself.

My first Becker was a Cinci Machax - I bought it because of a great review in the old, now-defunct American Survival Guide. Best knife I ever bought.

Uncle E said the 4 was pretty nifty. Took his word on it and made the purchase, it was a good suggestion.
