  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Have you ever bought a Becker blade on a suggestion or recommendation?

My BK-2 after seeing Adam test it at Equipped to Endure. At that point I knew I wanted it. Then BRabs thread really reinforced that. Then along the way, reading through the Becker forum, I thought I needed a small knife too. And so the BK-11. This forum has influenced me and helped me make an informed decision in making the purchase and I am glad I did. My expectations have far been exceed, I mean reading about the BK-2 and marveling at the pictures is one thing but to hold it and use it, at least for me, was really something and this neighborhood really helped  <we should have a cowboy emoticon here tipping his hat :D>

I chose a BK-11 based on buyer reviews on retail sites. Then I found this place and started reading. I was convinced a 2 was my next purchase. But after reading lots of things here, I chose the 7.

I have on regrets. Both knives purchased without even seeing a Becker in person. I guess that's a testament to the design and manufacture.

Looking at the BK11 or the BK14, give me a recommendation and I'll buy one! (Looking for a small fixed hiking knife, doesn't need to do any heavy lifting besides helping with kindling, also interested in making my own handle for it it that makes a difference).

BTW, I have never seen a Becker in real life (or, really any newish fixed blades) but I am interested because of how active their Manufacturer's Forums is on BF.

Either one will serve you well, and they will do some pretty heavy lifting, I have put my 14 thru things that should have broke it..and the lil feller didnt even notice!

The 14 is marginally preferable to me, longer/better handle IMO....but some folks swear by the 11. I have both and I dont think you will care once you get it which one you chose. The 11 is still a mighty fine blade....and it has a beer-opener!

purchased the becker necker on a web recommend. nice knife, but pulled the hair on my chest. came out of sheath one day and went down into my pants. that razor sharp knife went to ebay, considering an esckabar with the rounded handle now.

I bought the BK5 because clich told me too..:D

Yup, same here. Love that knife. Always within my reach, beheads chickens readily, and many other things that I can't speak of here.

BK2 cause of the internet told me to.
BK14 just in case BK2 was too big for me to handle.;)
BK9 cause I was drunk on the internet. That knife is awesome. Have to go to chopaholics anonymous because of that knife.

And now after seeing everybody going balls to the wall with there BK4 I might have to think on that seriously some.

I got my BK2 sight unseen because of this forum and everyone raving about it. I then got the BK14 because of reviews and pics here.

i bought my bk4 on recommendation from mr becker himself :)

My first Becker was an 11 I was looking for a neck knife. I got it based on internet recommendations alone. After that it was all down hill I think I have most all of them now. Well I still need a 3 and a few that are out of production.

I literally just pulled the trigger on a BK2 and an extra Tek-Lok. Like, 5 minutes ago. Never handled one in my life, but (as seems to have been the case with so many others) reviews here and around the rest of the Intertubes sold me. Should arrive Thursday.
