Have you ever broken the tip on a clip point?

You betcha!. I think it was my second or third pocket knife and I probably threw it at an oak tree trying to "stick it". Well, too soon old, too late smart.

Since in most the time that I would have had to break a clip blade, I carried a stockman with a thicker blade on it, I haven't broken one.
The only time I really was prying at something, instead of breaking the knife tip, I slipped and closed the blade on my finger, that was a fun one...
I haven't had as long to break one as some of you though.

Well, it was more of a drop point, but the only one for me was this Buck 424, which I've had for 25 years. I used the belt sander to reshape it, and it's now about 3/16 of an inch shorter than when new.

Yeah, back when I was a teenager. My first decent folding knife--a Buck 110--and a gift from my older brother, to boot. I snapped the tip off while using the knife as a screwdriver to tighten the topjaw screw on a flintlock. I did win the match though. . . . Some quick work on a belt sander the following Monday, and the knife went on to field-dress >100 head of big game.

I have never broken the tip off, but bent a couple pretty nicely! I am not a big fan of clip points so most of my knife abuse occurs on spear or drop points
Black mamba: nice job on that blade!

Had a tip I had bent on an old Schrade a long time ago. I was trying to gently straighten it recently with some needle-nose pliers and it snapped off, just a little bit near the end. I've reprofiled the blade a bit so it is still a serviceable knife, but I have lots of knives in better shape so it never gets used.

Luckily I have not heard the sickening snap, but I love repurposing broken clips into wharncliffes- best part is great knives like this are usually $5 with a broken blade- great if you are cheap like me!!
