Have you ever cut yourself at a Gun/Knife show?

Not at a show, but I did cut myself once at the knife shop. A Spyderco Rescue bit me with its first serration when I was opening the blade with the thumb hole. But instead of looking like a sheepish twit, making apologies and excuses, and asking the clerk for a bandaid, I pulled one of my own out of my wallet, put it on, and asked to look at an Endura.

A couple of times while i'm set up at shows and surprisingly, not many customers have cut themselves while handling my wares. I get cut and burned more while making them now.

When I was about ten, I was looking at a Rapala fishing knife in a store. When I went to put the blade back in the leather sheath I missed the proper channel and jammed that pointy blade right through the leather and into my hand. I can still see the scar if I look just right. I'm probably the reason that Rapalas now come in those awful plastic blister packs!

Out of all the knives I handle and own, only one will cut me.

But anyway, I was at a gun show with my father. We were looking at some sort of assisted folder (not a kershaw). He wasn't paying attention and cleanly poked the point all the way into the bone of his middle finger. It was so sharp that he didn't even feel it. He asked for a paper towel.

I calmly leaned over to the lady behind the stand and said, "This is why I usually don't let him handle the knives." I could tell she wanted to laugh, but not in front of my dad.

I don't know. I keep them all extremely sharp. But only my Wenger Commander I have on my keychain will cut me. Or maybe I'm only not careful around the Commander.
