Have You Ever Found A Buck....

Found a Buck Impulse in the grass at work once.

Found out later that it was mine and had fallen out of my pocket. :p

I worked as a mechanic in a Uniform Rental Place when I was a kid and when the clothes come in the first thing that happens is someone goes through the pockets to make sure there's nothing hazardous or dangerous in the pockets.

1) Change/Money, these guy's on some days would rake in an extra $40-$50

2) Cigarettes, medicine, illegal drugs, we had a guy call on an 1/8th oz. of coke, he threatened to call the cops, we told him, "Go ahead". :)

3) pens, keys and condoms

4) Pocket knives and jewelry

In the 1 yr I worked there I was given about 30 knives but only one Buck, a Cadet, the rest were SAKs or cheap knives, mostly Pakistani made, still there were a few Schrades and Cases to make it worth it.

I was on a job once lifted up a ceiling tile, and found a Buck lite the size of a 110 laying on top of the next tile. Thought it was a Selector at first. Had a broken blade. Friends wife liked it, so I let them keep it. Went fishing one time and found a Shrade Walden sheath knife in like new condition laying on the creek bank. It pays some times to be the first one to the creek.:D:D HL

mater of fact i found a 112 on the road,,, chewed up some
and it was a rare 4 rivet!!
sent it to Joe and it come back sweet!
but i dont collect girls knives... :p
so it sits in Bucksway's display case
of odd and unusual 112's
(for which he won an award at the blade show!)
heck i dont know what it is but
i found another real old girly 112 ..
used it as a letter opener for a bit..
did not look right on the desk
and jest found a home for it!
the girls jest dont seen to be as careful with them...
fall out of purses i guess ;)

found two 110's once under a barn..
only one 300 years ago ..
but mostly find sako watches .. 11 so far..

now if any one in Florida finds a 110 with ivory in the wood
its mine .. i lost it in 1982...reward !

was real happy to spot in what appeared to be a 110 that some unlucky camper had left behind in the open but as it turns out upon closer physical inspection - a rather disapointing pakistani clone with a broken backspring.
well, i did the next best thing, i threw it way out into the lake!
boy! did that feel good...

I have. I was checking a junk car for hazardous stuff before letting a recruit class burn it for practice, and found a General in its sheath under a seat. Pretty beat up, but sharpened up well.

No Bucks found......

The only knife I've EVER found was a SOG NW Ranger that I found in a rest stop parking lot just after a bunch of motorcycle guys had left. I figure one of them must have had it in a pocket or stuck in his belt instead of wearing it normally.

Anyhow, there it was, on the pavement and like new with cordura sheath.

Nice knife.

I have, at work. I love my job.

I'm guessing you work at an airport or a courthouse?

My wife and I were doing a gig tonight [Opening for David Allen Coe] and as I was loading out I stepped on a 119! The rightful owner WAS found but it got me to thinking....Has anyone else just stumbled on a Buck??? Iv'e found 4 or 5 other knives [mostly fishing] but never a Buck..

Hey Bucksway opening for David Allen Coe? Pretty cool!

After my mother passed away five years ago, my father decided to sell the house and everything in it. While going thru my mothers chest that she kept lots of blankets in....my sister said "this one seems kinda heavy!?" She held one end and let it unroll until.....thump!.....what dropped was my General that had been missing for about 20 years. I bought it with money i saved up from my first job in a hobby store. Mind you i was fourteen when i bought it(my dad was with me and ok'd the purchase) she wasnt very happy, nor with the dirtbike we put a deposit on, or the shotgun he got me...etc. Always wondered if one of my neighbors harbored it without my knowing....

I have lost several knives (most recently a Spyderco Endura) and found several. The ones I found were never as good as the ones I lost. None were Bucks.

I found a Buck 471T at the beach one time. Just walking along minding my own bidness and there she was. Spotted with some superficial rust (still got a few stains) and the edge was very rough but it cleaned up nice. I had it professionally sharpened (because of the rough edge) and it's one of my favorites now even if it was made in Taiwan.

A couple of weeks ago I let my nine year old carry a 110AG while deer hunting. It is about a 3/4 mile walk to where we sat. Later that day, he let me know that he had lost the knife (we were standing in the middle of a harvested field). His belt had come unbuckled and the sheath slid off. A majority of the walk is across harvested bean fields. Two weeks later he and I finished up hunting and as we were walking out, my foot rolled on an object. It was the knife. I think my son was relieved...I didn't get on him too hard in the first place, but he is quite perceptive.

Tony that is good news that you found the AG 110. I really like mine and the BP 110 that I have. I am sure you are right about your son being relieved about it to! By the way how did the hunt turn out? HL
