Have you ever found a knife?

I find knives all the time along with axe heads while metal detecting in fields. Unless the axe head is fur trade I toss them and the knives are generaly roached also. This one from a couple days ago had robust blades but was too far gone to save. I popped a 1900 silver Canuck five cent piece and a U.S. standing Liberty quarter not far from it.

When I was younger, probably 12/13 I used to help out around my step-dad's transmission shop. One day we had a police car come in and as I was disconnecting the battery I found an old Gerber multi-tool like this one, but black: (not my picture) http://www.deploymentsolutions.us/files/Gerber_MultiTool.JPG . So when the guy came back in to get the car I pulled it out and tried to give it back to him. He said that most kids wouldn't have been so honest and that I could keep it. That was about 12 years ago and I still use it fairly often.

How far do you typically have to dig?

Oh, and some guy on here found a sebenza classic (I think) for like 40 or 60 bucks....for a sebenza I consider that finding and not buying

I was thinking about this the other day. If I found a hinderer xm18 at a garage sale for $20 would I take the deal or tell them how much its worth and offer $100...

Ok so I was in walmart and I dropped my phone and as I bend over to get it I see a dusty Winchester buck looking knife so I grab it and walked around and left

My love for Kershaw is a direct result of a found knife. I can't remember what model it was, but it was nice. Unfortunately, I myself lost it 2 days later. Guess it was a wandering knife.

Found it in a riverbed by Tinkham Road WA.

I found a knife out near Tinkham road once. Okay, well I didn't find it, a couple of my buddies did. It was a Gerber 06 auto. It's funny, because they all thought it was my knife at first. Maybe 15 minutes earlier I had been using my knife ( I don't recall which) not a yard from the spot they found it. They said something to the effect of "Ha! Chris dropped his knife! What a loser!" I checked my pocket and said, "No, mines right here"
You should have seen them jump! After a short struggle my buddy Brad had a new knife! Finders keepers!

I was helping my girlfriend move and found two beat up folders in the new house.

Here they are cleaned up

About 17 years ago I found a gerber gator with a Mac Tools logo on the blade and about 3 years ago I found a gerber mini paraframe buried in the sand at a golf course. It came out when I chipped my ball onto the green.

I found a Gerber Multi-tool exactly like that too. I found it at a fishing lake about 5:30 AM, it was next to a fire and in the open position like they were cleaning catfish late into the night. Though multi-tools have been out for some time, I never bought one because of their high expense. It was a virtual gift to me when finding that tool that morning and I still use it today in my bicycling kit.

I have found at least 3, a really nice new large Swiss Army Victorinox, a small folding Camilus and an Opinel.

Anywhere from a few inches to below the old plow line in a farm field, which can be a foot down.

I was in an auto wreckers about 20 years ago and found a knife. The yard workers always popped and half pulled out the rear car seats for change, wallets, whatever was there. I glanced in to the car I was pulling a part off of and found a long skinny single bladed pearlite folder. It was quite elegant and I used it as a letter opener for a few years, then lost it somewhere......
