Just wondering how many have? And for what? I havent, made to endure most all things. If need to add anything to poll lmk, and will try to add.;)

I am in the middle of a warranty claim. I'm not going into details out of respect to Busse while it's resolving. I will say it's a minor thing and they answered correspondence promptly (personally from both Jerry and Amy) and have lived up to their legendary reputation.

It happens to the BEST (ALL) of them, "companies". If don't feel like saying what was thats OK, just would like to hear if people were actually able to break one, and model, mostly, and if gave shop cred or fixed, what have you. Will add" no issues ever" to poll when figure out from phone.

And pics of something you actually broke would be something to see!!!, WE KNOW!!!, Busse are gods at top of the line indestructible fixed blade performance. Had a general curiosity to how many have broken one and if was any hassle to get a new/fixed one back to you. Even if people being picky about how they received their knife had issue if was taken care of, whateva.

It's on my bucket list to have to send a Busse back to Wauseon for warranty work because I was too rough on it.

Haven't had much luck getting that one done. ;)

Might just have to stick a Steel Heart in the middle of the yard and run over it with my lawn tractor just to get it checked off. The only thing holding me back is I'm afraid the tractor would take more damage than the INFI and Cub Cadet's warranty isn't anywhere near as good as Jerry's! :p

I voted never had an issue, but I did experience the outstanding customer effort that the company puts forth for their patrons.

I bought a knife that was re-ground and had the original scales re-attached with corby screws. I gave Garth the knife at Blade one year and asked if they could re-attach the scales with the original style hollow, flanged pins (which I think look great).

Not only did they re-attach my scales and refused to take any payment, they buffed the knife up to look as new and shipped it to me at zero cost to me.

Unless they brought a bottle of whisky to my house and hand delivered it, I don't know how they could have done any better.

Great knives, great customer focus, and great friends. As the boss would say, Let's Drink!

best

Once, and it was immediately handled by Jerry himself without a single issue.

Not Busse, but Bussekin, I broke a SYCKO1311. Emailed, sent it in, replacement received. Busse stand by their products.

Yes, it was a very uncommon issue, and not easy or cheap to fix I'm sure.. but Jerry took care of it no questions asked.. I was very pleased.
They kick ass

They replaced a 711 i broke abusing it, no question asked, 1 week to get a new one back

Imho the biggest concern is replacement if it comes to that. Tglb is worth $337 and I doubt they have any way to give you a new one, so if you are going to abuse a knife beyond repair best to choose something that's only worth what you paid. While the warranty is awesome it would suck to pay $750 for a knife and loose over $400.

im beating the crap out of a few of mine waiting for the day i have to send them in. if i could sharpen better my beaters would be perfect.

Good point.

Murman, you've touched on probably the ONLY disadvantage of owning a BUSSE/KIN.

And what a disadvant...it really is a blessing.

It's kinda like being the man who pays the most income tax in the USA....at face value it just seems bad, but it's an embarrassment of riches.

If only all our problems were like having too much value packed into a knife for it's own good, right? ;)

So, I'm not so concerned about losing money...I'd be more concerned with losing a legendary model that I'd have to try to track down...it could take what's left of a lifetime in some cases.

Again, let it sink in....it boggles my mind that we own what amounts to a hand tool that <at least> holds its value with use, and quite often INCREASES in value with abuse. Simply amazing. :)
