Have you ever lost a knife from your pocket?

Only one here...an AGRussell Funny Folder...went nuts looking for it for weeks...wife bought me a replacement for it as I was so distressed...then it turned up...it got hung up in the Lazy Boy recliner and stayed there for about six months:eek:

I had the same situation as sitflyer but mine was only lost over a weekend....i was taught at an early age by my plumbing boss to always carry a large knife, not just for the work but also so you could feel the thing in your pocket and you would always know when you didn't have it. i still use a Case Trapper as my plumbing knife for those reasons.

YEP !!!!! About two weeks after I bought one of the original size ACIES knives from A.G.RUSSELL I lost it from my right rear pocket where it was clipped. It was one one tight SOB to clip on too and I was flabbergasted to find it gone. I was sure it came out in my truck but no luck finding it. In April I bought the new ACIES, a smaller version and it's clip is so tight I cannot get it over any Wranglers thickness denim so I just drop it in my front right pocket. I quess when it's gone it's gone and I'll be outta the ACIES bidness !!! Incidently they both were GREAT knives.

I lost an Al Mar Hawk out of my pocket because the pocket stitching came loose and the knife fell through. I don't know why I didn't notice it, but it was sure aggravating to have lost that knife. Most of the knives I have lost over the years have been from me laying them down while using them and forgetting to pick them up when the jobs were done. Here in the last few years, I haven't lost knives for long at a time.

The car is where mine seem to turn up most frequently, should they drop. Side pockets, like in slacks or khakis, are the worst culprits.

I have had several knives slip out of my pockets over the years, I have been lucky enough to find most all of them in the usual places, recliner between the truck seat and the console etc. I have recently started following some advice I read on here, (I think it was jackknife who suggested it) I put my current slip joint (a Douk Douk at the moment ) in my pocket and drop a folded bandanna over it haven't had any trouble since I started doing this.

I've done the same as all of you usually it was slacks for going to church or work twill pants, just as bad! If a knife is heavier I'll notice it almost amediately! The lone exception to this, on weight, clothes and recovery was my much liked Victorinox Outwardbound Tinker! The day before I got married we were at Dallas Sixflags over TX, and I was wearing shorts(TX and early June), then I made the mistake of riding the loop roller coaster! Yep; gravity took over and you know the rest! I amagine the workers there have found a knife or two below the loop(s) there! I've had two Outwardbound Tinkers one got lost and one got stolen when my truck was trapped under debree from an F3 tornado I survived in Nashville! I really like those OBTs but for me not too lucky a knife!
