have you tried the lionspy?

I prefer the G10 or Carbon fiber Militarys (what I was comparing the Lionspy to). The titanium Military is imho a lot heavier, gives less grip and no advantages. The M4 Military in G10 and titanium is a good compromise, but I prefer carbon fiber (stiff, light, good grip)

Well I need a knife on me for maybe over a year long trekk, which is ehy I was thinking thne titanium would help, I dont know if the rest of the scale materials are fine and could cope with possible daily use of living and not just box opening, and my treks around the sea so avoiding corrosion is a must too.

Most my cooking gear is and will be titanium bought for its lightweight and best strength, I assumed itll be the same for the knife choices.

What other materials do the paramilitary scales come in.
I have seen some durability tests on this and the paramilitary on the tube and they do seem pretty tough.

I may buy new sleeping equiptment to shave a kilo of total weight off too so a smigde of weight gain on the tools may not hurt me, its just affording buying several knives and the choosing one from them all is something I cant do. Can only afford the one well built costly one, or suffer a bit.

don't get your reasoning, i'm ok with the trek, i'm ok with the laws in uk that are very restrictive, i don't get the whole "super stout" folder because "if i wake up frozen at night i want to get hte knife in my pocket and baton firewood".

do you plan sleeping and batonin firewood in the streets of london ? what's the big deal getting your fixed blade in your bag and use it for it's purpose ? youre going to spend some time batoning your wood and starting the fire anyway do you think 30sec more for grabbing your blade will kill you ?

get a military and use it for what a folder should reasonably do ... it will perform this better and your fixed blade will process wood waaaayyy better than any uberstout folder.

not trying to make you sound ridiculous but this sounds pretty obvious to me.

I would say, just get a ukpk. You will have a fixed blade so you don't need a super folder. Plus you can keep it legal. I think you would be better served by saving the money you save on the folder and investing in better gear, maybe a sleeping pad. I think you are worried about some imaginary situation where your life will depend on your folder, which its going to be unlikely in your situation.
If you are worried about being cold at night, getting a better sleeping bag is probably a better way to spend £28.

i owned a sr-1 in ti, it was awesome.... but i need a hold in my blade. its how i prefer to deploy. thats why i enjoy my striders over the crks. all the crks i have owned have been enjoyed but never carried so i have sold them off. i sold my sr-1 also for the lionspy because it was my sr-1 i loved but a little more grippy from the g10 and it had a spyder hole. idk what else i could have asked for :)

I own both a Lionspy and an Sr 1 Bronzed Ti! Awesome knives built like tanks. I agree with the people recommending perhaps a lighter carrying knife for such a long trek. The Spy isnt exactly light. I think a Millie or para might better suit your needs. Or what about a smaller fixed blade like an ESEE or a DPx? Or a Fallkniven? Love those!!

Im thinking the fallkniven for their 3g, but I was planning bigger lol, the phk.

Finding the right blades is hard as figuring shelter. , tent, tarp, tarp and bivi, tarp and hammock and mossie net etc and then the right materials etc and right weight etc etc so much to think about.

When my yhands are cold I tent to put more strength into stuff, hence the need for a heavy duty knive

Guess my decision should really include self testing the knives first. But cant do that

How about a cold steel tri-ad lock knife? The large voyager should do everything you are asking, and costs far less, spend your money on a good sleeping kit, it will keep you warm better than any knife could.

I'd rather pay alot for a european made blade than too little for one made in communist china.
Unfortunately, finances haven't allowed me the pleasure of trying a lionspy.
