Having a hard time with a knife decision....

Looking into buying a nmsfno/sfno or a hell razor. Not sure which one to go with or pursue. Any suggestions or opinions based on past experiences with the knives? Thanks guys!!!!
 
I prefer the NMSFNO for the slightly longer blade length but all 3 have basically the same handle and slightly differeent blade lengths and shapes.
Hell Razor 6"
SFNO 7-7.5"
NMSFNO 8"
Also slightly different thicknesses.
So it all depends on your needs/wants/preferences
 
NMSFNO is a great "only blade" blade. Does small stuff well, chops, batons wood well. I'd say it's a no brainer really. But. HELLRAZOR is one I have yet to try.......
 
Three knives, three opinions... I'll tell you now that half the people here will say SFNO, the other half will say NMSFNO, and the last half will say HR.

I've had all three, the only one left is the HR but that's only because I (a) needed the money really badly and (b) had other knives that I would carry in preference to the SFNO and NMSFNO.

That said, for me the SFNO(LE in my case) was the best all-rounder of the three and is simply a beautifully balanced knife, both physically and aesthetically. If I had not had the others, the SFNO-LE would have been the keeper.

If you envisage a lot of chopping though, perhaps the NMSFNO would suit you better.

I kept the HR because, being very slim with the standard handle, I can slip into gaps in my rucksack or belt load. Plus it was the least 'valuable' of the three when I needed the cash.

Anyway, my vote: SFNO-LE (first, then the others).

The other knives I mentioned that I have? ... an original Heavy Heart FSH for the heavy tasks and ASH1-LE for something smaller.
 
If you have to pick only one it would be the NMSFNO-fantastic blade, easily one of my three favorite Busse Models, next would be the SFNO, and then the Hell razor-Good luck
 
I just started in the madness, fancied myself a FSH guy, ..HHFSH (I plan to have that buried w/ me) and a NMFSH.. love 'em...Got my hands on a NMSFNO variant.. In. Love. (cue the Barry White)..Locked down another this morning..Now I want them all.

Good luck in the hunt and scramble.
 
Just buy a Gerber or Bear Grylls knife --- way more useful and much stronger than any Busse/Bussekin

Of the 3, the SFNO might be the better all-rounder. But, since you have an AMS, then the NMSFNO is a better big blade companion.


Of course, a HHFSH is an even better companion. But that's another thread.
 
Nothing to add to the above except, (go with the nmsfno), I'm glad someone else has difficulty choosing the perfect Busse. I could damn near own and try every model type available...;-)
 
NMSFNO, no question. Best Busse mid-size blade out there, IMHO. Sold mine a while back and still regret it.

A bigger blade can do everything a smaller one can. A smaller blade can't do everything a bigger one can. For that reason I'd say NMSFNO.
