Having Trouble Grabbing My Boys Axe

No problem with the head at all for me. I do like the axe. Just need time with it to decide where it works for me.

I'm very surprised how thin that council is! Thanks for posting the pics. I really like the shape of that Husq and have yet to use one, but man that handle is thick.

I guess that was my point of reference to say the Council was dainty. It took a pretty good while to fall in love with the handle on the SFA due to the thickness and the sharpness down the upper front side. Now it works so well at the tasks I ask of it, I am rather fond of it.
I cut a couple more 6-8" stinking gum trees down yesterday. I hate a gum. I used the Council. I messed with them both today, and am starting to notice how thick the Husquvarna is. I mean I knew it was thick, but not that thick.

Just another view of the handles.
It's about like gripping my thumb. I am beginning to be more comfortable with it. Threw together a little mask for it last night.

Looks good to me, actually better than I had previously thought. My own boys axe pictured in this tread is just shy of 1.25" by .9" thick at the grip. How does that compare?

I wish I had left a little more material on the front side of the handle. It's more of an almond shape and in hind sight I would have preferred an egg shape or more oval. I have a few more boys axe heads to handle so next time. Otherwise I am happy with the handle, especially when putting it to its intended use.

That's quite the tiny handle. Some friction tape might be in order. Then add some gloves to prevent blistering.
