Hawaii Critter Pics

That woulda freaked me out, pulling one out of my pocket. Ugh.

I don't know if you're in HI too, Government, but yeah, we have scorpions there as well. One of the smaller species anyway. Haven't been stung by one of them yet either, but come across them often enough doing yard work and the like on the drier parts of O'ahu.

I always check my pockets after sitting down now:D. I had a good buzz at the time so I was able to laugh it off. I have lived on Maui since I was about 14, minus some time in college.

My dog? It's a poi dog, poi mashed up taro, pidgin' for MUTT! Besk kine dog!
She looks like a dingo pretty much. Sweet, hearty, but dumb as rocks, bless her heart. At least she knows who's boss.

We were out doing yardwork and she came wandering, skin and bones outta da beach park (hau bush in ewa beach) My now wife and I looked at each other and said, "want a dog?" Had her for at least 4 years now. :D

Here's a hawaiian wild boar that wasn't quite as lucky as the other one. Got this one this afternoon in Hilo, Hawai'i.

Aloha!

One of my Marine friends was doing the prone portion of his rifle qual at K-Bay about 5 years ago and layed right on a nest of centepedes. Five or six of them ended up in his shirt and he got bites all over his chest and belly. They were younger ones about 3 inches long but he was still pretty messed up. Had to go to the hospital. I hate those things, gotta do the "stomp and spin".

funny story,my pops went to use the outhouse last year an a centepede was under the toilet seat,he couldnt walk for a week,,OUCH,,,got hit by a hawaiian scorpion 2 days ago, theres alot were i live,,a honey bee sting is alot more sore,a mild sting that goes away in 5 min.
