Hawaii Knife Show

A $200 deposit leads me to think the table price will be even more....I probably won't be able to afford it even if i did have some knives to sell. Plus interisland plane fares are pretty expensive, about $150 rt. Sounds like it could be fun though. Show date is pretty close to the Gun Show, wonder how that will affect sales?

Dan from Plaza Cutlery emailed me back and said they're still not sure they're going to have the show, what with the economy and all. I believe I read $500 for a table.

Are you on Kauai then? Do you go to the gun show? Do you have a table there? I just emailed the show organizers, the Hawaii Historic Arms Association, but haven't heard back yet. I wonder what a table costs, and, if it's possible to share one.

I've never been to a knife show, or even a gun show with some knife tables. If the Plaza Cutlery Hawaii Knife Show comes to be, I'd sure enjoy meeting Fujisaka, Mayo, Onion and others.

I'm planning on doing this show if it happens, I just need an excuse to get to an L&L!

The Gun show tables are less that $100 if I recall correctly.... Mayo and Onion dont usually set up at the gun show but Tom usual wonders though at some point in the weekend. Stan is always there. There is a little cluster of knife guys at each show. All good guys, just don't tell them I said so! ;)

Hey Les,

I still haven't heard back from the gun show guys. I better email them again. I look forward to meeting you.

All the best, Phil

Hi Phil, yes, I am on Kauai, though I just moved over here a year ago from Oahu. The past couple of years I had a table helping out a friend who has since passed on. The table fee was about $80 if I remember correctly. The head organizer works at the Army Museum down at Waikiki but his name escapes me at the moment. Several custom makers exhibit there. There are 2 gun shows a year, March and September, and they are held @ the Blaisdell Arena. I don't have plans to go right now but that may change; it is definitely worth going. Aloha, Steve PS Les if you have a hankering for Hawaiian food you can always go to Zippy's online and have them send you out something:)

You guys are both kidding, right? L & L Drive In or Zippy's? Hmmm, you gotta raise the bar for your gastro-intestinal expectations!

Yeah I am serious about the Zippy's thing; they pack the order in dry ice and express it out. Keeps all the expat hawaiians in Las Vegas stocked up on the famous Zippy's chili etc. My exwife is a Zippy's veteran employee.

HAHA!!!!!!!! I'll be in Vegas in for the Jan show. They should put L&L and Zippy's there too!

sweetness! :)

Phil, we'll ignore that sacrilege...
