Hawaii

If you make the North Shore trip and get the munchies....check out the White Shirmp truck at Kahuku...Giovanni's Original...Killer Shrimp Scampi...;thumbup:

That is funny you mention that Busto. When I was in Oahu back in '07, there was a shrimp truck called The Shrimp Shack on the North Shore, and man did they have some delicious food. Amazing how they can make such great food out of a little space. My grandfather was/is retired Navy so we got to stay in the Hale Koa Hotel right in Waikiki on the beach and it had to be the most beautiful place I have ever been. Amazing in that it has beach, mountains, volcanoes, tropical rainforest and desert-like habitats in such a small space. I highly recommend a trip to the North Shore, climb Diamond Head, snorkel at Hanauma Bay, eat malasadas at Leonard's (walked 5 miles for those tasty treats), take a submarine tour, and of course visit Pearl Harbor. So much to do there, and since you will be there for two weeks, you will have plenty of time to do everything cool:thumbup: Have fun and be safe! Lots of pics too please:D

That's why its referred to as Paradise! There are some awesome mom & pops eateries...one of my Fav's up North Shore in Laie is Poppa Ole's....they have a breakfast called the "Samoan" 1lb Bacon, 1lb Ham, 1lb sausage with Banana Macadamia nut pancakes and 4 egss...I don't eat the day before or the day after makes me kinda sluggish paddling my board....:D
There are 3 or 4 Places that Feature Shrimp...I have tried them all and the Original Shirmp truck (Shrimp Shack) is the White Giovanni's Still hands down the best...They have a Great name and by 11:00am the line is 20-30 and by noon 50...Get there early or after 2:00 don't look like much but you won't be disappointed!!!

Yep, I really need to go to Hawaii...

I know some good places....unfortunately I'm leaving back to the mainland tonight...BOOOOO.....have to Wax my board and clean all my fighing equipment before putting them back in storage....:(

double tap...

You get to go to Hawaii!?!? Man I would LOVE to go there one day. Please take lots of pictures for us :D

Go up towards Makaha and you'll see some of the last "old school" surfers out in the bay. Hit one of the small chop suey shacks on the right hand side of the road and you'll get more food than you can eat for $10. Try a Moco Loco - you'll never want to see another McD's. Best sunsets up there too.

Make sure you hit the flea market at the stadium in Oahu. And don't bother to take anything more than an overnight bag. 2-3 shirts, trunks, 2 pair shorts, sandals and shoes. Anything else is wasted weight.

We recently got back from a week on Kauai, you're in for a treat. It was in the mid 80's everyday with a nice trade wind breeze. The ocean was so clear you could make out sand ripples in 50 feet of water easy. The place is beautiful. Worst part of the trip is the plane ride that just sucked the rest priceless.

Have a great trip.
