Hawk and Panchenko Orbit mid-tech

I'm on the Hawk list ... but this is not an automatic buy for me. I love the idea of a Hawk-lock flipper with a new detent mechanism but I really don't like that cleaver blade shape on a folder. If it looked something like this, I'd buy it without hesitation:

It's begging for a Sweeney Todd edition with full Ti, engraved handles.

The cleaver/razor style blade isn't the most practical thing, but I really like the look of the knife.

Almost too cool for school!!
Can't decide if I love the blade profile, or hate it, but definitely interested!

The modern materials and handle combined with the old style razor design looks cool. I would prefer a plain blade, because coatings look bad when worn, but still cool.

Definitely in for this one. I'm sure the execution of this will be flawless. I agree about the raw blade vs coated and really hope they offer that as well.

I have to admit, I like your version better.

There's something about this knife I find really appealing, especially the panchenko's version. I love his antiqued finishes.

Feels great in the hand. I didn't think I would like it from looking at it, but once I held it I instantly wanted one.

Just got mine tonight, totally blown away. Build quality is out of this world as you would expect, and the action is unlike anything I've ever experienced in a knife. The sound gave me chills the first time it fired open. Pics later :D

Congrats.

I ended up passing on this. I figured there would be another Hawk midtech flipper in the coming years that I would like better.
