Hawk and Zach at Beckerhead camp.......

Obviously the finger was going to survive. Throwing a hawk was a hit.

Sleeping in the cold was bearable in these accommodations.

Ethan is a great teacher and friend. I do truly appreciate the time we got to spend with you. Thanks again Ethan.

i keep thinking E should make a mosquito enclosure for that hut of his, and a nice sleeping back for the Summer. ah, wonders...

as well, it occurred to me, but too late, about pizza delivery on the hill. "inappropriate pizza" we called it in school when a guy would show up during exercise class, or scuba, or a variety of other things, just for lols.

Man, i was hoping we would get to see some pics and you did not disappoint!

Looks like everyone had a great time. Good on you Hawk for taking the time to share these experiences with Zach!

Will you be bringing your boy to the next gathering?

great pics, looks like a good ol time. Kinda nice hanging over a wood floor no dance to get up and get the shoes on if duty calls. Great book in the pick there too he has a pretty unique writing style and has done enough homework on what doesn't work. I like the passage about the pre flight checklist for the AF pilots, a bit dark but humorous - a good read...

Great pix Mr. hawk......

Got the pie pan.....Thanks for bringing Zach down.......A son to be proud of.......looking forward to getting together soon....

Ethan

Gorgeous view from the treehouse!

Looks like a great time too. I love hearing Unc's stories. Reminds me of when I'd sit listening to my own grandpa telling stories.

Glad it was only a flesh wound and not anything more serious. Guess he got his first Becker Bite, glad it wasn't bad.

Hawk. For that boy to have a father like you and a mentor like Ethan. He don't know how lucky he is. Looks like a great time. One that none of you will soon forget. Well done! Thanks for sharing!

It was a bonding and learning experience I will not ever forget. I appreciate all the compliments and was glad to share this with everyone.

I plan on having he and Jacob both at the next gathering. I will just have to bring a bigger jar of vaseline and gauze bandages with both of them there along with my tendency to slice and dice my own digits too.

As for the read, I have to admit that E loaned me the book last weekend when my wife and I swung by the house. I am halfway through it and it is an eyeopening read. I highly recommend it and will end up getting a copy of it of my own.

Hey Bear......

.....They even laughed at one of my jokes !!!!!.....LOL........Fire and Fellowship........Cannot be beat.....

Ethan

Zack loved the joke and has already told it twice. I just have to keep reminding him to check out the age of those within hearing distance...... Good one about ole' Angus.......

What was the book?

SOunds like a great time had by all. I loved the pic's. Appears to be not too far down the road from my place.

What was the book?

It is called Deep Survival by Lawrence Gonzales. Really good read and explains the thought processes that you need to use to take time to adjust to changing conditions and also how not to set yourself up for failure (become DRT) in a survival condition that seems like it would be no big deal.

If you know where Chillhowee Dam is you know where I speak of.

I've fished and hiked all around there. Both in the river below the dam and up Abrams creek. Beautiful place. I live in Blount Co. really enjoyed the pics, looks like a great time.

Thanks for sharing and for serving!

I was proud to serve. I actually live in Maryville. You should work toward being a Beckerhead and join us at the next gathering. It is a lot of fun and you can really learn a lot.
