I made up a batch of these thin hawk bills for gifts this year and one to post here on BF.
Stock removal from 1/16 inch 5160 a high carbon steel which is known for edge retention and toughness
Heat treated to Rc 58-60 with attention to a fine grain structure throughout the blade
Flat grind with a belt finish followed by a cork belt
Stabilized curly maple handle
Overall length: 7 inches
Blade: 3 inches
Leather scabbard with a belt loop for a rightr hand carry
