Hawk handle length

I see various discussions about the length of the handle of a tomahawk. I have a question. Is the handle measured from it's end to the bottom of the head, top of the head, or the entire length of the handle including what is above the head.

I've been wondering about this as well. With all the emphasis put on handle length and throwing does the inch or so above the head get counted as well?

I count overall length from bottom to top, including what's above the head.

Me too. I think of it as the length of the haft regardless of where the head is.
