I heard this knife mentioned by Thomas W in another thread, and decided to do some research:

These are some prototypes of the Ram built by Grant and Gavin Hawk. This looks like another great addition to the manual flipper lineup.

Ok Thomas. Is this being made into a production run anytime soon? maybe in the future?? That is an awsome looking knife

Nice find ks, the Kershaw version does have some changes to it, but yes, there will be a production version of this knife. Personally speaking, this flipper is the easiest flipper to...well...flip. It can't help itself. My 6 year old can do it.

We are keeping the wheel clip though.

More details and images next week.

awsome. yet another knife to look forward to

Oooooo! And the bottom pic (with the black scales) didn't say "prototype" on it!

Damn!!! Tacticool! The Hawk's approach in designs are really "outside the box" innovative thinking. Any updates on this knife?

Here is a couple of images to give you all some idea of the size of the R.A.M.

Here is one with the Shallot and Groove as well. None of these all black versions will be production, but we were showing them off at the show. They will probably end up being sprint runs.

Are these images too big?

Wow, great looking knives. The Tanto Groove looks wicked, and the RAM is a very unique design. How does the Hawk lock work?

Thanks a bunch Thomas W for the prompt and great pixes! I like big shots so they could show more detail. So I suppose blade lenght would be in the region of 3" - 3.25" (wish it was a tad longer)? I also like how front guard/choil was modified to be rounded, making it more utilitarian for the index finger when choking up. Any news for a release date?

The size of the images are great, not having to scroll left or right is my only criteria.

The content on the other hand!
Just another blatant example of that salesmanship and marketing!

Thomas first posts a picture of a new knife with one we are familiar with for "size". Deviously though, the familiar knife is actually a from a boutique run, so not only do we look at our own blurs and think "Hmm... its missing something, shouldn't there be some other knife next to it? Oh, right I need to get a R.A.M. to keep it company." and then "Wait a minute that blur looked cooler than mine too! Now I have to order the SG2 blur as well!".

Even worse then he posts a picture with black versions of three of the new knives together. Black knives that won't be available when the normal ones ship, so we'll be forced to buy the normal knives immediately, while the memory of the black ones haunts our memories and eats away at us. By the time the black ones are available we will not be able to resist buying them as well. ;) :D

This is going to be an expensive year.

Thomas maybe you could make it easier on us and just make a black matched set of the new knives, so we can just buy them all at once?
Oh, wait then we'd end up buying the production version, the sprint version, AND the matched set anyway. :D

Dang kneedeep, I was thinking I was being covert, but you got me pegged right quick. :D

what about some specs dadgum it!! blade steel , length, frame material ect ect-

and yes thomas the sun is out today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

its a nice looking piece-looks like it fits the hand well with the front choil type thingy :)

what about some specs dadgum it!!

We are keeping the wheel clip though.

I worry about the wheel rubbing a hole in my jeans. Anyone
thought of testing that aspect? As most knife clips have
a smooth backside to protect against that I would think
the wheels would end up leaving marks or maybe even
ripping a hole. I dunno?

Just askin.

Integral choil
13C26
Reversible pocketclip
Neato-keen lock

I'm supposed to be done buying knives! :grumpy:

I will say that the RAM flipper is the easiest manual version to open that we have produced...well...the NRG is right there also.
