I've been browsing the zombie equipment thread and I've come to realize my arsenal lacks a good rotted brain splitting combat hawk. I would really like a winkler or an RMJ but I just cannot swing $500-$600 on a hawk unless I sell some guns which isn't going to happen. So how about some suggestions and or pictures of some good affordable hawks for the apocalypse. Thanks!

Maybe even some relatively inexpensive Kukri suggestions as well?

the one in my avatar is made by swamp rat knife works, will have an unconditional lifetime warranty, will likely cost $300-350 give or take. Its gonna be SWEET! But, not coming out til early next year though, gives ya some time to save :D

if you keep an eye out on the fixed blade exchange, you will see quite a few custom hawks. they may not be that tactical looking, but they will work.

Do you mean the trade part of this forum?

Oh, just you wait. They are sure to be the buzz once they get closer to release.

Good luck to your hunt.
Maybe with the Swamp Rat guys. I've heard first hand reports from blade that the micarta grips aren't all that comfy. The tang is exposed on the front and back

I would also suggest a Cold Steel but if you want a zombie hawk, I'd get the spike hawk.

I wouldnt consider myself a "swamp rat guy", just a guy who likes nice stuff (guess that makes me a SRKW guy then:p). I personally held it (my girly hand in the pic) and I like how it handles. If I could change something about it, maybe simply remove the top grip, but will reserve my criticism until I actually give her a ride. If its not up to snuff, I know just the guy to mod it  As for the exposed tang, maybe Im not very critical and didnt notice it being a problem the cpl mins I held it  Im looking at the pic and I think it may actually provide a safer, more user friendly grip as is, but I could certainly be wrong. Will see once it arrives.

Try Steve at Coalcreek Forge makes some great hawks at a reasonable price u can find him over in the tomahawk forum

I think I might take the CS warhammer over a hawk for the Zombies, less chance of cutting and infecting myself :D Maybe the Brooklyn Smasher/Crusher too

Take a look at the Ontario Ranger RD-Hawk. Made from 1075 carbon steel, and around $100. It would make short work of any rotten brains you come across!!:D:thumbup:
