I carry one of these on my tractor when I'm running the brush hog. It works well for overhanging branches and briers with the shape hooking into the wood rather than it sliding down the blade like a straight edge will do sometimes. It will also work well on chopping larger wood and could be used with a baton to split kindling; just watch out for that tip.
Forged from 52100 high carbon steel
Heat treated to Rc 58-60 with attention to a fine grain structure throughout the blade
Flat to slight convex grind
Black and natural Micarta handle sanded to 120 grit for grip
Overall length: 13 1/2 inches
Blade: 8 1/2 inches
Leather scabbard with a belt loop for a right hand carry. I added brass canoe tacks for safety.
