So what i'm thinking is take the haft above the head like a hawk haft and epoxy a long wedge that goes into the head as usual.
I seriously hate heads coming loose and would like to try this for dedicated throwers. What do you think?

Just cut a slot in the teardrop and and drive your wooden wedge in and then your steel one,same principal as the axe handle your just doing it to a teardrop.

oh, well - that would have been convenient for replacing a broken handle, but not critical.

First unique design in light axes in a couple hundred years. I like the handle. Pretty sharp for a heater and beater. A sheath that would tie to a backpack and still be accessible would make it very handy......Randy
