So this is not actually forged from a hay rake. I made a few from my grandfather's old hay rake, then I realized that the steel I had from his hay rake was finite, and I didn't wan to sell it. I bought some O1 in the same dimensions, and this is one of the knives I made from it.
The blade is O1, heat treated and tempered to about 60rc. It has been hand sanded to 800 grit, and it is sharp as a razor.
The handle is cocobolo, with a through tang construction. The tang is peened on the end and the whole thing is very solid. It fits the hand well and has been polished and smoothed to make it comfortable.
The sheath is 7-8oz hand tooled leather from Wickett and Craig. The knife fits well and draws easily.
Dimensions
Blade - 3 1/4" cutting edge, 4 1/4" to the handle
OAL - 8 1/2"
Price - $sold shipped to US. I will ship internationally for an additional fee.
I will have this posted elsewhere, so the first timestamp saying "I'll take it!" gets it.
