Hi all,

Is anyone familiar with www.hazeblade.com? They claim to offer a free Gerber to the first 5 people who leave them feedback each month. So I waited up Thursday night till midnight (and then again till midnight, Pacific Time) to make sure I got in at the first minutes of the new month. Haven't received an email from them yet, but it hasn't been the 48 hours they promised.

So, question: anybody ever gotten a free knife out of these guys? Or is it a total hoax, and I'm a sucker, and now they've got my email address?

Thanks in advance

:grumpy:

Well, 48 hour time limit passed, no email. Obvously bogus. At least it didn't cost anything but time.

Did ya ever think with the billions of people in this country, and the millions with computers, and the hundreds of thousands of people who have computers and like knives, and of the thousands of those that read the offer, and the of the hundreds of people that responded, you might not have been in the first five? This run on sentence is in memory of my 10'th grade english teacher Brother Regis(he hated run on sentences)

Good point, even if it's bad english. :D

Lucky we don't have "billions of people"....Social Security would be in even greater peril. The hit rate on that site is not at the level that would suggest that huge amounts of people hit the site daily. Although there are many referral sites to this particular site, it doesn't seem at many items are competitively priced.

It certainly could be that I just didn't make it in the first five. Absolutely possible. However, having more than five people respond in the first 30 seconds or so (I allowed a little flexibility in case their server clock was off) would imply a certain level of traffic, as mentioned in "billions of people..."

But taking into consideration that this website and giveaway doesn't seem to appear at all in the BFC archives, and no one was able to give me any feedback indicating experience with them, I infer that it's not a popular, well-known, competitive situation. If it were, people would be talking about their free Gerbers, right?

So. Yes, I considered the possibility I might have just not made it. But I think that possibility is unlikely enough to ignore it.
