Photos HBO's Euphoria - Hoback Kwaiback

Eh, I didn't want a $400 pocket razor anyways, my answer to that is always "The Yojumbo exists". But after reading that thread and some other research, no way will I buy Hoback. Same as I won't buy a Burger or a Medford.

Still a dope show.
What bugs you about Medford knives?

They are chonkers, mane! I will be fair and say I have never handled one, so I will not say "These are bad knives!" but maybe I just don't get it. Hinderer, Medford, Strider knives, they go wide rather than big. I do not mind long and heavy at all, in fact a lot of my favorite EDCs are 4" or more. It just seems like I would prefer ZT for a knife that's actually for cutting. But, like I say, maybe I don't get it.

This is my review of the Medford 187 Drop Point Tanto:

Sadly, not made anymore.
They make the same basic knife with a regular drop point, but to me the Drop Point Tanto is the "Medfordiest" Medford of all time. :)
Their production precision/quality improved in recent years, but that particular knife just has something about it. It's actually the "Knife of the Day" for me today.
I'm just about to head off to exercise, and it will be in my pocket...maybe it will help strength building to to extra weight! :D (it actually is one of the lighter of the classic, old-timey Medfords).

And here's the Praetorian:

The Praetorian is kind of silly in proportions, but that's because the full sized one is apparently due to a printing error!

"Medford Praetorian Genesis G

This is the ORIGINAL Praetorian design size. The Knife was made in its current full size as a printing fluke as a novelty! Who knew it would take the knife world by storm? This was the predetermined size of the design."

I bought a Medford after being a huge armchair critic of them because of your thread about the 187. Medford is legitimate. I own 2, now.

This thread is pretty unintentionally hilarious, at this point. Crazy that Hoback was on trash all this time and it just blew up right after I made this thread. I'm glad I never pulled the trigger on one.

That is an interesting review, I enjoyed it! It seems capable enough. I'd definitely like to handle one, at the least, just to see what they feel like.
You know, I really wish my town had a B&M knife shop. Probably do in the surrounding city area, by L.A. If we have a metal shop (metal music), we probably have a knife shop. Both are equally underground and passionate scenes.

Thanks for the interesting review.

Glad to help with enabling the addiction. :D

It would be great to have a local store where you get the feel for the various knives.
Online buying has been great for variety available, but I have ended up with a few knives that I would not have bought if I could have held them first, that's for sure.

Conversely, twice I encountered a knife at the local gun store that looking at it online I had no interest in...but ended up buying after handling it in person!

😁 Imagine how nice that could be, picking out the truly most wicked looking knife you can, without fear of public reactional stuff.
Don’t imagine - just do it!

And think about where/when/with whom to pull it out. ;)

Trust and believe, my friend, I carry some wild stuff on my nightly walks, coyotes give me great justifcation for my Espada XL, and once I got the pretty one, I had to get a "worker" one to compliment it 😁

I actually carried an auto out for the first time today, cause it's the only knife I had that has a deep carry clip, and I was in a bank. 😁 Honestly a Microtech would be like a gentleman's knife to me. Always very careful and mindful which knives I use, how I use them, and around who I use them. If I'm doing something like cutting an apple at my table while taking my girlfriend to lunch, I took my PM2 out and opened it noiselessly, with one hand with TWO hands, lol nobody was looking but if they were, they'd see somebody calmly, steadily opening a knife, showing that they are treating it with the gravity it deserves. If it was a smaller task, I'd have used the Case, Winchester, or Old Timer slippie I often carry in my fifth pocket.

This behavior has kept people only loving and appreciating my knife-carrying, and I have yet to receive any remark that was not complimentary! Love your Talwar, by the way.
EDIT: WITH TWO HANDS! Don't know why I wrote one hand. Never one hand in public places! That motion of a "fast" knife flicking out from some young punk with long hair in a leather jacket don't bode well.

Unrelated to the knife: I can’t believe you guys can watch this show. I think it’s garbage smut, regardless of how they portray addiction.
Eh, I'd imagine there are many people who would get distracted by this show, some scenes are just hard for people, as they should be. It comes to an amazing conclusion. There is a reason for everything. And, in my opinion, the scary dark smutty feeling with Cal (older guy) and Jules (MtF trans girl) is SUPPOSED to feel bad here and there. It isn't supposed to be sexy. Cal is deeply messed up, but it isn't cause he's a random bad guy villain and the show needed a villain. Nate is fucked up, because of Cal. There's some real goodness, though. Everyone's very "human".

I don't know, but there are people on this board who would stop me right there and say "HWAIT HWAIT A MALE TO HWAT?" and that right there would be too much for them to watch Euphoria. Hell, my mother was watching it and the first few episodes are tough! But If that is you, I get it. If not though, and just the extremity of the hotel scene turned you off.... yeah, it was hard, supposed to be hard. It isn't continually like that.

Sorry, def fanning out for this show, haha. Welp, whether you care or not, I tell ya, I don't watch mindless, and this ain't mindless. I was prepared to hate it, too.
