yup , take your time and do it by hand , sometimes you find the finish aint that pretty under there and may have to step it back to say 220 grit or so , but work your way thru the grits and you can get there. I did this on a black coated blade , not sure if the silver finish is as easy to remove as I haven't tried it.

the scales I did in titanium as well , then fully polished them as well as the pivot , oh and I added a Ti backspacer as well.
this was taken when I was about 1/2 way done with the blade..
dug this one up from depths on my hard drive pict archive...
fire ano was done by a friend of mine , ti scales , backspacer and other mods by me.
the blades that appear silver were black coated blades that were glass bead blasted.
