Hd-7 bt

Damnit. I've barely done any cutting with this thing and I just noticed a chip in the blade.

One Stop Knife Shop occasionally has them for high prices. Awesome knife, Id love to try a "broken in" frame lock Emerson.

Greaves--- What are you going to do? What were you cutting?

Plastic bags that were tied up at their handles. They're always a bit of a bitch to tear apart so I just run a blade through em'. The HD7 made quick work of it.

That's it. That's the only work it's seen.

What are my options? Send it in? Re-grind?

Thats odd. I reprofiled mine to have a much thinner edge so it cuts better and mirror polished it. I've done damn near everything shy of stabbing metal. No edge damage yet.

Are you sure the bags did this?

Well, the HD-7 has seen almost zero pocket time. It's sort of just been something I come home and admire at the end of the day. The bags are the only cutting that it has seen.

I wonder if, under warranty, EKI would fix it.

Hmmm. Yer call. I'd have Tom Krein do 'er. LMK what you do.

Yeah, that's definitely something I'm considering.

Thanks for the input, fellas. :)

Greaves--- On second thought, let Emerson fix 'er. The knife's brand new.

I cut some cardboard and part of a newspaper and notices a small knick in the top and bottom of the blade on my super cqc8. I got rid of it with some ceramic rods. Mine were small though, if you can't get them out I would send it in.

Just wanted to mention that EKI warmly requested that I send it back in to be fixed.

Put it in the mail today. :)

Sorry to hear it, but you did the right thing. Not a cheap knife and they have a good warranty for a reason.
