I really thought about it, I almost put one in the cart. I'm gonna hold off though since I've spent a lot on knives recently. Does anyone know what the Ti side looks like? Is it subdued like the CQC-12 BT or stonewashed?

My HD7 Ti side is subdued but my first HD7 was Stonewashed. I must go lookie.

The older ones with the BT & BTS blades had the blasted/subdued finish where the SF & SFS has the stonewash finish. I would guess the new ones are the same being that the HD12's from last year(?) had the same format.

Yeah, I missed out on the Tigers and now I'll probably miss out on the HD-7 because my custom CQC-13 ate up all my knife funds for a while.

That's OK Silvanus. Tigers will pop up for sale here and there in the exchange or else where. EKI may produce another batch as mentioned by ER. I would say the HD7 is going to be a similar situation in regards to a 2nd hand one in NIB condition as there are collectors and users. Just keep looking and besides, you have a Specwar 13 now!

Believe me, I wasn't trying to complain. I'm fortunate enough to have been able to acquire what I have. So many great designs have been put out recently it's hard not to want to get them all.

There does seem to be a lot of new models and old models reintroduced recently. I would take that 13 over a Tiger and HD any day.

Agreed. I'd like to try one to see if the little bit of grip shape change HD's have could make me like a 7.

A foil grip will make you^ like the 7.

I can see how OM would be unhappy with a standard HD handle profile. He's not a fan of the potbelly pig belly that some Emerson knives have on their handles like a CQC-11, Specwar or Patriot. I dislike having to change my grip to make a tool work for me. Should just be good from the get go for most situations. I really dislike it when the fingerguard is right under the thumbramp like on the 15's and the Gentleman Jim for handles hence me not having any interest in 15's.

Torn on the HD7's being that I'm not a lefthand chisel blade guy but like the handle...Have a HD7 BTS but don't really use it due to the blade.

Mine came in today. Ti side is a brushed finish and looks nice with the black. G10 has checkering like the colored handles but is more coarse. Overall I like it a lot and gonna carry it next week to see how it works. Handle is so similar to the 7 that if you don't like the 7 I don't think it will make any difference.
