HD-7 & CQC12 no longer in production?

Everyone seems to show them out of stock but has an estimate of arrival on their next shipment.

Looks like I waited too long to purchase my 'dream knife', but with the economy and other issues mone is an extremely scarce comodity for me right now.

Looks like they are taking pre-orders on their website right now, a bit pricier than a dealer but it might be my only option if they truely discontinuing these models.

they are disco'd, i suppose its always possible they would do a small run in the future but i havent heard anything to make me think this might happen anytime soon.

i dont know why web sites are "waiting" to get some unless they have a source for them other than EKI, maybe they just havent updated the sites?? is gonna be a long wait if they are waiting on EKI lol.

but they are disco'd and out of production i am 100% sure of that, as of right now anyway.
 
I heard that they are discontinued as well (Hearsay only; I didn't speak directly with EKI).

As for some sites showing a future delivery date, my best guess is that EKI has a final batch of their framelocks in the works. After that, I don't think we will see any more as a standard offering. Just my two cents.
 
They have been discontinued for a while now but as mentioned there may be one last batch in the works but who knows ?

There is a few places with the 12s in stock but its only the half serated blades from what I can see, no plain edges.
I havent seen HD-7s any where for a long time, I got mine way back in the day and they seemed pretty hard to find even then.
 
I ordered the HD7 from yourcornerstore. They said they will get it from a distributor on Feb 17

There are at least 4 on-line retailers with an estimated ship date of Feb 17, I have an order placed at one, I guess I'll wait and see.

So far though the EKI website is still showing that they are taking preorders for the HD-7, I don't see anything fo rthe CQC12 though. I'll wait to the 17th, then check with EKI if I don't hear from the retailer- just don't want to pay an additional $119 if I don't have too.

I sent an e-mail to EKI but have not heard back yet.
 
Give emerson knives a quick call, they usually answer phone right away. I imagine they will clarify.

I called EKI a couple weeks ago and they said it's a mistake on their site. Both knives are discontinued.
 
mongo is correct, they are disco'd, and have been for a while now, like i said if ya'll are waiting for EKi to release some dont hold your breath lol.

I guess I'll have to take my business elsewhere- like strider.

No frame locks, no emerson's for me.

I love my 15&14 & A100 but I'm in need of a frame lock this time around.
 
you can still find CQC12's and HD7's if ya look for them and are willing to pay the price.

i would look at hinderer customs vs the striders, an SnG or SmF run ~ $400 or so LNIB and a hinderer XD runs ~$550 or so and is a real custom not a semi like the striders, they are similar to the SnG and have a lot better F&F vs the striders, FWIW the nest time i want a knife like that it will be a hinderer not a strider, and i have had 4 SnG's, 2 SmF's, and a couple of AR's and GB's, i prefer the hinderer.

but hinderer, strider, whatever, if its gotta be a frame lock and its gotta be from the dealer no EKI isnt a good place to be looking,
 
There's always the Sebenza or an Umnumzaan. :)
One of the dealers here says he's got CQC-12s and HD-7s on the way. We shall see.
 
If one can't grab a 7 or a 12, another route to take, on par with a Sebenza, would be a Strider folder.
 
I like the sebbies but they are just a bit small for my use.

The strider I can get w/in 2 days so thats one more reason to go with the strider as opposed to the hinderer.

We shall see.

The hinderer's don't seem to peak my visual senses like the striders though!
