He FINALLY wants a knife!!!!!!

Zenghost and the rest that asked, my EDC is a CRKT Large Mirage, I have really never found anything I like better, even some more expensive blades.

I was considering the Spyderco Native or Endure, but I like the suggestions to take him with me. There is a big gun & knife show in Collinsville, IL. Dec. 13-14th that I was going to anyway, I might try to take him with me, and just let him wander and try several ones himself.
There's not really anything that I can think of along the same lines as a Large Mirage. The old Benchmade Boguszewski Spike was a similar shape, but discontinued and above your price range. They do still have some Mirages here but they're way more pricey than they should be.

If he's willing to go, then the knife show would be a perfect place to take him. He will see a larger variety than he would at a single knife store and it's usually easier to handle the knives (not in glass display cases). Plus there's sure to be great deals too--you may even find a Mirage for him there. I bought a small wharnie mirage for $15 at a knife show awhile back and I think some here have gotten them for less.

I'll second the kershaw leek- my GF loves hers, and really isn't into knives. My newest knife convert is at the video store I go to and opted for the leek as well. Bet your nephew will be all hype about the speedsafe too.;)

If you are down in the area near Collinsville do yourself a favor and take your Nephew with you to Grand Prairie Knives in Troy IL. They are a great shop. They are sometimes at the shows, I know I have seen them at Collinsville before. The shop is on a frontage road right next to 55 just down from a truck stop. You will not be sorry you made the trip to the store. I stop in there every time I am in the area and drool on the cases and fondle several knoves. Their prices are excelet as well. You would be hard pressed to find knives for cheaper on the net! They have just about everything in the shop from a swiss army knife to custom Elishewitz, Bud Nealy etc.. knives. They carry about every spyderco and Benchmade and they even have some out of productionm items as well if something that they no longer produce catches his fancy. If you are in that area and you are looking for a knife then that is the place you want to go. I have not found anything even close in the St Louis metro area!
