  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

head lamp

get the tikka plus. they are great head lamps. I used one for years. (tikka series)
I use a petzle elite now. but it doesn't run on aa or aaa.

Fenix just came out with a AA light that looks absolutely cool as beans. Has anyone got it? I love my Petzl, but the idea of being able to carry all lithium AA batteries for everything is romantic.

Yeah, I have them. They are pretty slick headlamps, and the regulated runtimes are crazy.

I have used the energiser brand for years verys successfully. I like that it slides easily from red to white light - shich I use hunting and when in the car.

I have not had one break yet- though I have had the slide switch knocked adn the batteries rund down. Cheap and worth a try! there are several new variants out now - they do not suit me personally as well as you cannot flip straight to red light without going through white.

I have just bought a princeton quad tactica - impressed so far. it is more of a flood than a spot but gives good output and decent through with a vey borad spill. It certainly lit up a shearing shed (small warehouse size) reasonably nicley and the red light(through a slide up filter) is easily accessed and good enough for walking around fields on moonless nights without ruining night vision of scaring the animals.

Too many good choices by the sound of it.

I can say tha if you start with an energiser you probably won't regret it - even if you end up buying something else later
