Headed to the Spokane Gun show

Mike, have you ever shot a .44 mag with a short barrel? OUCH!!!!
its no range toy or plinker. no fun to shoot but hopefully a true bear stopper if ever needed. i prefer my glock 20.....15 rounds of hard cast 10mm.....but i got no bears down here like those out west. super big browns and big black bears.

10mm ammo around here is like looking for a gun store in SanFran...Non-existant? Don't know why? Black Bears around 600 lbs, BF 800-1000lbs...I like the .44 mag, I have the Ruger Lever action that shoots the same...

the beauty of internet ammo buying in bulk.;)

yeah i agree your choice is far better for where y'all are and size of critters. where i am 10mm puts anything down and fast.

You forget I live in the communist state of CA...Online ammo sales are now a NO-NO...

I bought 300 rnds for 200. I won't be shooting this thing much more than getting used to it. I cannot wait until I can pick it up and try this bad boy out. 6ft and 240 lbs with a bad thumb. Fortunately closing my hand still works, I just won't be able to put it down, lol

One nice thing about the .44 revolver you chose vs a semi auto is you can shoot any load from the Special to the Magnum in it without worrying about it cycling properly. That should be a lot easier on the bad hand (and wallet) getting used to it till the hand (and wallet) get healed up.

Good luck it!

I like that Ruger. Even if you never shot it, it makes a statement that hopefully even bears will understand.

Can't wait to see the holster it will be carried in.

Makael, I have a few Westerns and the date coded them from 1977 with an "A". It is a lone letter on the side with the model number.

HA, very cool indeed. I was guessing an Imp, thinking it was a mini hatchet that one could probably open bottles with. Who knew?

Now I'm curious (uh-oh, never good), is it older or something more recent? Looks like those faux stiletto shaped pocket and mini sheath knifes that were everywhere in the 50's and 60's.
